Niamh and I decided to go to the crime scene and look into whatever we could. "What do you think we should do first?" I asked, looking up at my partner.

"I think that looking into this Mary Sue character would be a good idea," Niamh replied.

"Are you looking for wittle old me?"

I shrieked upon hearing the voice. I turned around and saw the speaker standing behind me. It was a girl with blonde hair and makeup covering her face. She was looking into a compact mirror and applying even more makeup to her face. She wore a pink dress over a pink shawl.

"Uh... Who are you?" I asked, finding it hard not to make fun of all that makeup on her face.

"My name is Mary Sue, but you can call me Mary!" the woman told me, putting on lipstick. Her bright brown eyes stared at the makeup.

"Could we ask you a little bit about the case?" Niamh asked her.

"How about you give me your names first, hun?" Ms. Sue said, continuing her makeup stuff.

"Niamh Cruz and Yuri Rinko. We're the lawyers on the case," Niamh explained.

"I see. In that case, I guess that there's no harm in it," Ms. Sue smiled. She closed her compact and stuffed it into a pocket in her coat. I tried not to be weirded out by the crazy lady who stood in front of me.

"What did you see the day of the crime?" I asked.

"I was with the defendant and her crazy siblings. The wittle defendant girl got up and left after a while, so we waited. We heard a scream and found the crime scene," Ms. Sue explained. "She's as guilty as it gets, if you ask me."

"The defendant's guilt has yet to be proven," Niamh told her, beginning to glare.

Unable to take the suspense any longer, I let my inner anger burst out in an unhappy huff. "Could you please tell us about a case from sixteen years ago?!" I yelled.

Ms. Sue gasped in shock. All of the makeup hidden in her coat fell out, so she scrambled madly to pick it all up. I noticed how ugly her pink hat was at that point... Ew... That's the worst thing I've ever seen.

"What's wrong? Is something the matter?" Niamh asked, frowning.

"Of course something is wrong! You're talking about sixteen years ago! That's... Don't talk about sixteen years ago! Some bad things went down then!" Ms. Sue yelled, her voice teeming with anger.

I took a step back. "That's... That's nice... How about you calm down now? Before you scare me out of my mind?" I asked nervously.

"Don't talk about sixteen years ago!!" Ms. Sue yelled feverishly. Is she okay...?

"Could we ask you what you saw back then? It's important to hear about this if we want to solve the case," Niamh said calmly. I hoped that Ms. Sue would catch on to her serene approach to the topic and follow suit.

She did not.

Ms. Sue ignored her and began to apply her makeup again. She acted as if we weren't even there, which I admit weirded me out in the slightest. People have hated us before, but they've never ignored us...

"Ms. Sue?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Are you going to talk to us?" Niamh questioned.

"You two have gotten me all worked up. I can't tell you anything until I'm calmed down. I need to look absolutely gorgeous before I can calm down entirely," Ms. Sue explained to us, continuing to rub the lipstick's makeup stuff on her lips. That's really weird...

"How long is that going to take?" Niamh asked with a frown.

I gasped, an idea appearing in my head. "I have an idea, Niamh," I whispered.

"What is it?" Niamh questioned.

"Compliment her," I hissed.

Niamh nodded. "I think you look stunning, Ms. Sue. You look great," Niamh told her, though I could tell that this was killing her inside.

"You look absolutely gorgeous," I piped up.

Ms. Sue smiled and put her makeup away. "Thank you," she said. "Okay... I'll tell you what I remember."

"What happened to make this case so bad?" I asked.

"I was simply in my house, which was right next to the defendant's house, when I heard a scream. I didn't think it was anything, but there was another scream not long after. Soon, the police show up and I end up being questioned about a crime!" Ms. Sue yelled. "It was so... Sudden! To hear about something like that!"

"I imagine it was," Niamh nodded. "Did you see anything else? Do you know anything about the victim? Anything at all?"

"No need to pressure me so much..." Ms. Sue muttered, shaking her head. "And no. Nobody would tell me anything. Though judging by the sound of the scream, they were young or a girl. Or a cross dressing computer program. I hear they're real skirmish."

"That's... Odd," I commented, wanting to get away from this crazy woman as soon as I could.

"What about we leave you to think in a little more depth about if you saw anything? We should go look into other things, anyways," Niamh said.

I nodded. "See you later, Ms. Sue!" I exclaimed, waving as Niamh and I walked out.

Once we were on the ground, Niamh and I began walking. "Where to next?" I asked.

Niamh didn't get the chance to respond. We heard a screeching noise, like metal grinding together. We turned around to see what in the world could be making such an unpleasant sound.

I wished I hadn't turned around.

Because the first thing I noticed was an explosion.

I clung to Niamh as the cold, hard reality hit me head on, repeating over and over in my mind.

The monorail just exploded, meaning that the crime scene was destroyed and Ms. Sue was most likely dead.
