Chapter 2: His first day of school

I had just woken up and I needed to take a shower.

I went to the bathroom but as I was changing, the door began to open slowly. "I'm in here!" I shouted. "What's with the shouting? I just woke up." I should have known it was him. He shut the door and went back where he came from.

I quickly took a shower and got dressed in my school uniform. I attend a private school so unifrom was required- girls wore a navy blue pleated skirt and a grey jacket with a burgundy tie and the boys wore  navy blue pants, grey jacket and a burgundy tie.

I went downstairs for breakfast but I felt all weird because I was so used to my house where I did whatever I wanted. I saw Nate (he wanted people to call him that) and Pam (she also wanted me to call her that). Pam was making eggs and bacon and 'Nate' the jerkface was just sitting there reading a magazine.

"Good morning, Mrs. Charles." I greeted her. "Please call me Pam. And I'm divorced so it's Ms. but that's okay, sweetie." She set the table and gave us our breakfast. "Kat, I am so sorry to ask but can you drop Nate to school, please. His car is in the shop and I have to go to work early." She wanted me to drop jerkface to school-yuck! "Sure, Pam. No problem. What school does he attend?" "I have forgotten. He knows it so he'll tell you on the way." He had gone upstairs to get dressed.

When he came downstairs, I actually thought I was going blind or something. He was wearing navy blue pants, a grey jacket and a burgundy tie. Yay! Now I was going to see him nearly every hour of this week! 

"You ready?" I asked. "Sure." We had to go to my house because I didn't bring my car across here. When I opened my garage door and he saw my car, his jaw dropped. " Please tell me we are not going in that." " Of course we are. What's wrong with it?" I put on my dumb voice to annoy him even more. "It's pink.Not light pink but HOT PINK!" "You know your colours? Never would have guessed." Just to enlighten you, my car is a Hot fuschia pink convertible 2009. I did not like pink that much but I fell in love with the car when I saw it so my parents had bribed me with it for my seventeenth birthday. " Just get in or walk." I threatened. I really would not mind if he walked. "Too bad." he muttered and got in.

The ride was not as painful as I imagined it to be. It was very quiet, except for the radio. When we arrived at school, Nate got up as if his pants were on fire. I hope I never see him again for the day.

Just then, my two best friends, Jen and Luke, came up to me. Jen hugged me and Luke was all awkward because of our status. He liked me but I only like him as a friend. 

I don't date. I don't wanna get hurt so I'm currently waiting for the right person (if I ever meet him). I don't think Luke is the person is Luke, though. I can only think of him as my friend and nothing more. 

Jen, Luke and I walked in school and as soon as I walked past the office I heard someone calling me, "Katherine." There is only one teacher who calls me Katherine and that is the principal, Sister Annie. As you can probably guess, she is a nun. She is also my aunt, on my mother's side.

"Katherine, dear, can you show this young man to his classes? He has the same classes as you at the same times so please make sure that he does not get lost." "Sure, Auntie." I replied. "Thank you dear." 

"I thought ahe was a Sister, not an Auntie." Nate said dumbly. " She's my aunt, dodo head." Gosh, I needed better insults! This is gonna be a long day.
