I decided to go back to my 'No Dating' rule. It was working all along... before Nate came along. When I went to school the next day, I tried to avoid Nate as much as possible but having the every single class with him was torture. At one point in the say, I visited my aunt in the Prinicipal's office.

"Good morning, Kat. How are you doing?" she asked me.

"Fine, I guess. Can't complain."

"I heard about the break up. Are you ok with that?"

"How did you find out about that?"

"People talk a lot in this school."

Well, this is slightly embarrassing...

"Well, I've got to get to class so g'bye!" I said, quickly.

"Ok, darling, I'll pray for you."

What? Why would I need prayers? I didn't ask her this though.

In my rush to get out of the office , I crashed straight into someone, causing their books to fall out of their hands.

"I'm so sorry about that." I said then I realised who it was.

"Oh, it's ok. Accidents happen."

"Are you ok in there, Ken? No snide remark?"

(A/N: In case u don't remember who Ken was, he was the guy who Kat hooked up with at the beginning of the book...)

"I'm trying to be a better, nicer person." he said.

I laughed. "Sure you are, Ken."

"I heard about your break up, Kat."

He sounded sincere until he said, "If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here."

Then he winked at me! "Ken, no thank you but thanks for the offer."

"Ok, well, see you later I guess."

He looked so sad. What did I say?

"Ok." I said, going to the library. I really wasn't in the mood for another class with Nate. It has been so awkward!

I decided to study or at least hold up a book since I was in the library. I was holding a book to my face again when I heard someone call me.

I looked up and saw Ken standing there. "Guess we saw each other sooner rather than later." he joked.

"Yep. hey, are you ok? Before, you seemed a bit sad or disappointed or something."

He sat down next to me. "Yeah, I'm ok, I was just offended at how you automatically thought I was referring to sex when I suggested you come to me for a shoulder to cry on."

"Oh, I'm sorry. In my opinion you did wink."

He laughed. "I tend to do that a lot."

We talked and talked until it was lunch time. The bell rang and we made our way to the cafeteria after putting our books in our lockers. I guess I must have had bad luck or something because when i opened the cafeteria doors, the first pair of eyes that met mine was Nate's. His eyes turned a dark shade when he saw me. Am I that bad?

"What's his problem?" Ken whispered to me.

"I really don't know."

I told Ken that I wasn't feeling well and once again, I went to my car and sat in it. I put the top up, reclined the seat and lied down. A while later, someone knocked on my glass.
