As soon as I pulled into school, I searched for Nate or his car but neither was there. As I was stepping out of my car, my phone rang. I checked the caller ID and it read "Nate". Speak of the devil...
"Hey."
"Hey, Kat. Do you know where Nathan is? He left his phone at home."
It was his mother.
"Um, no, Mrs.Charles, I don't know where he is. Sorry," I said.
"Well, while I'm talking to you now, I wanted to invite you to dinner tonight. Can you come?"
"Ok, sure. Thank you, Mrs. Charles."
"I told you a million times- call me Pam. Bye sweetie."
"Bye."
Where's Nate? Maybe, I should look for him.
No. Give him space.
When I was turning the corner, about to go to third period, someone grabbed my arm and pulled me into a room. As I was about to scream, I felt large, masculine hands press against my mouth.
"It's just me, Kat." Then he moved his hands.
"Oh, sorry, I tend to get scared easily." I said.
I turned around and I then realised how sweaty he was. "Why are you so sweaty?"
"Well, my car broke down about five blocks down and I didn't have my phone to call anyone so I decided to walk to school since I was closer to school than home. Let's just say that my morning hasn't been very good." he said, then he mumbled, "First that dip wad moves in with you now this."
"Nate, I told you already, you have nothing to worry about."
"Ok, Kat. I trust you but it's him I don't trust. I'm sorry for being all 'jealous boyfriend' 'this morning. It's just that I really like you."
"That's ok, Nate. Everything's forgiven." "Oh and by the way, I'm having dinner with you and your family tonight."
"Should be fun." he said then kissed me softly on my lips. "C'mon let's go to class."
~o~o~o~o~o~
"So is everything ok with you and Nate?" Aidan asked me at lunch.
"Yeah, I'm really sorry about this morning."
"That's cool. No worries."
"Are you sure? If you want, I could talk to him and ask him to apologise to you."
Aidan passed his hands through his hair and said, "Nah, I'm fine. See you later?"
"Sure."
When I walked into the lunch room, I noticed one thing: Jen and Dan. They were making out.
Yes! I wanted to scream. I knew they'd be good together...
Someone covered my eyes with their hands and said, "C'mon. Let's go somewhere else for lunch."
"Sure, let's go." I said, smiling. "But I don't have lunch yet."
"Don't worry, I got it covered."
He led me outside. I didn't know where I was going, I was just going with the flow. A few minutes later, he moved his hands from my eyes. When I opened my eyes, I saw that we were at the park next to school. There was a blanket sitting in the green grass, with a picnic basket on top of it. I gasped. He was so sweet when he wanted to be.
"When did you do all of this?" I asked.
"Don't question it. Just enjoy." "Come on, let's eat. I am starving!"
