"Just a brief warning, Matrix, Malaya is a bit of an odd duck. She is obsessed with watching her castle rise from across the lake. We'll have to walk over there and find her. She knows it's always family, but she has to be sure before she will actually invite us in," Maize said.
They found Malaya laying across the beach on a piece of drift wood. Matrix had a thousand questions about the why and all but she was really tired and just wanted to get the introductions over and see if maybe she could get a bed to sleep in. She slept on hay for a few hours the night before and road a Pegasus halfway across the country today. She was starving and worn out.
"Sister...and babies!!" Malaya said, getting off the ground. She went to each of the pegasi and hugged their necks. They all whinnied and stomped, fluttering their wings around her with affection. "I am so glad to see the three of you. I have a treat for you. But that will be in the morning. I know you angels are tired. Run along and find Solelyn, Dianis, and Anne."
"You have pegasi too?" Matrix asked and immediately covered her mouth. She hadn't even been introduced yet.
"Sister, who is your guest? At my home?" Malaya asked Maize, speaking to Maize like Matrix wasn't even there. Then spat at Matrix, "Of course I have a pegasus, but Dianis is my DRAGON and Anne is my enchanted human animal help, if you must know. Why are new people always so nosey?"
"I'll show you in the flames. She needs our help Malaya. I already told you. She's mixed up with Alec in the worst way I've ever seen. I think we may even need to pay a visit to Mariah," Maize pleaded.
"Are you serious? You know how I have the sea. This is as close as I like to get. I love my mountains Maize. Can't we summon her here? We can send Pheonix. Or Dianis. Dianis would love to get out for a bit," Malaya suggested.
"Can we maybe go inside and maybe find a sandwich or something? The last thing I ate was almost three days ago. Well, and some berries Falcon got me," Matrix pleaded softly, almost afraid to say anything else to Malaya.
"Oh all right, we'll go inside. I hope you like my humble abode," Malaya said with a sarcastic tone and twisted grin.
"Humble. Ha," Maize said.
