Oh my God this is becoming so much longer than I planned. I don't know when I can update again, hopefully tomorrow!

Enjoy :)

They say you fall in love with your soulmate the second you meet them and continue falling harder with every second more, and while you always thought that was utter rubbish, you realized it was true.

You and him, you played your cards well. No one suspected a thing. After the airport fight, where you were actually paired to fight with the pain in he ass Ant Man, and Bucky with T'Challa, the two teams had gotten separated. But before you two had separated to go to your teams after first talking, you and Bucky had created a plan. One that worked fairly well for the next two months.

And even though it was the most cliched thing you had ever done, sneaking out in the middle of the night like a naughty teenager just to meet up with him was so worth it.

"I waited a long time for my clock to start counting down," Bucky murmured on one of those nights, where you two were in a park just sitting on the grass (like I said, cliche), his flesh arm over your shoulder, "I was so afraid of what HYDRA would do to you."

You pursed your lips, resisting the urge to bite your lip. "Is this much better? Meeting in the middle of the night when we're on opposing sides? Isn't anyone getting suspicious?"

"Well at least you aren't dead," he said, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, "And I don't know, this whole sneaking out thing is kinda hot."

"Shut up," you muttered, rolling your eyes, and giving his shoulder a shove while he chuckled at you. It was so different seeing this side of him, when during the day, he was like a stranger - not even a stranger, and enemy.

He put an arm around you more tightly as the air got colder, tugging you into his side so you were almost curled up into his chest. "This is best, we both know that. I don't think Steve would understand, and I know for sure Stark won't."

"You're right," you sighed, almost shutting your eyes at how peaceful the moment was, "He wants to bring you in. Arrest you. If he knew that I've been with you this whole time..."

You knew he was going to ask. He always did on these nights, but he never got angry or upset when you opposed. Even though you didn't want to. You just knew that they wouldn't trust you.

"How can you stay with them, knowing that?" He asked quietly, "Maybe I deserve it, but-"

"Stop right there," you demanded, turning your head to glare at him, "You know you don't deserve to be arrested, Bucky. Don't even finish that sentence."

His eyes searched yours, maybe looking for the lie in your statement or just a sign of doubt, but when he didn't find it, he gently leaned forward and pressed his lips to yours softly.

That was one thing that made it worth it, you supposed, was that you at least knew he cared about you as much as you him. Meeting in different places as often as you could wasn't easy, especially since you were best friends with a trained soviet spy that knew when people were lying - but by God, it was worth it.

"I love you," he said against your lips, causing you to laugh and pull away, smiling.

"I love you too. This will be over soon," you said in a hopeful tone, ignoring it when he got a doubtful expression. "Tony will come to his senses."

"If you believe that, doll, than I'll have to, too."

You screwed up. By God, you really screwed up. But how could you not do anything?
