THIRD PERSON POV - ITALICS ARE MEMORIES

Bucky hadn't really expected to see her again, and especially not like this. He had thought about her for a few days after and suddenly he caught a glimpse of someone through the crowd of people leaving the movie theatre, recognizing her face with a small burst of excitement.

"Y/N!" He didn't shout it, but it was loud enough for her to stop in her quick escape, but he didn't realize she had been trying to get away from someone. She turned around, relief spreading across her face when it was Bucky.

"Hey, didn't expect to see you here Bucky," she said halfheartedly, shifting her bag on her shoulder as she glanced behind him, forcing a smile on. He caught on immediately, concern in his features.

"Are you okay?"

She bit her lip, wiping under her eye before laughing lightly, "Yeah, um-"

"Y/N!" A voice shouted behind them and she visibly flinched, backing up a bit.

"Sorry, this isn't a very good time for me. I'll see you around, okay, Bucky?" She looked annoyed as she turned away but Bucky didn't take that as an answer. He definitely didn't want to risk not seeing her again, and the fact that she seemed to have someone following her freaked him out a bit.

"Is someone after you?"

"God, no, don't be melodramatic," she rolled her eyes but the joke sounded forced, "No, it's just my boyfriend – excuse me, ex-boyfriend-"

"Hey!" The supposed boyfriend caught up to them, roughly grabbing Y/N arm and holding her in place, which angered Bucky but he didn't have to do anything. Y/N yanked her arm away and glared at him.

"Jason, back off."

"Who's this guy?" He nodded angrily to Bucky, who resisted the urge to knock him out. Y/N huffed impatiently.

"None of your business, in fact, nothing about me is your business any more. Get the hell away from me and don't bother coming back!"

Jason tried to protest and grab her again but before Bucky could react, Y/N didn't hesitate to punch his nose in, quite literally knocking him to the floor. She grabbed Bucky's arm, muttering, "Let's get out of here."

She dragged him away and turned a corner before Jason could recover and follow them, and she leaned against the wall, looking, well, heartbroken. Bucky felt a twinge of sadness but was still confused about the situation. He rested a hand on her shoulder comfortingly, raising an eyebrow.

"Okay, the first time we met, you punched someone, and the second time too? This isn't going to become a habit, is it?"

She laughed lightly, shaking her head, "I hope not, because I'm bruising my knuckles. Thanks for showing up randomly, he probably would have tried to follow me home."

Bucky tensed at the idea of that, frowning, "What did he do?"

She rolled her eyes, sighing, "Cheated. I had expected it before but I didn't want to believe it until I saw it. My friend told me that he takes this girl to the movies every Tuesday, when he tells me he's working late, so I thought I'd check it out. I was correct."

"I'm really sorry," Bucky said sincerely, and she met his gaze with a bit of sadness.

"You don't even know me," she refused to meet his eyes once more, glaring at the opposite wall, "For all you know I could be a crazy axe murderer who deserved this."
