I couldn't keep my eyes away from the picture. It felt like my mind might explode.

How can it be?

"But, why would they think I'm dead?" I ask Sam, clearly confused and shaken up by the concept.

"Because it was all staged," Sam explains as he crosses his arms over his chest. "The demons who were after your mom burned your house down as well. So when the police couldn't find you or your parents, they confirmed you were all dead."

Everything seemed to be coming together, and yet, none of it made any sense to me. My life was so warped and unpredictable, I just wanted to know the answers behind all the lies that I've lived my whole life. I mean, I have a family. An actual family out there somewhere. Maybe aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, siblings. Who knows? But yet, they all think I'm dead.

"And the police just never bothered to look into it any further?" I question.

Sam shrugs, "As far as I read, they think it was an electrical mishap, nothing else."

I glance over at Dean, who I'd noticed has been quiet this whole time. I don't even know if he has even looked my way.

I shake off the hurt and confusion and focus on the bigger concept here.

"So, what now?"

"Now, I say we go hunt us some evil son of a bitches." Bobby perks up suddenly, and I jump as he slams a hard object down beside me. I look down to examine it, staring back at an average size pistol.

"Wait.. You want me to.."

Bobby cocks an eyebrow at my nervousness. "Is there a problem?"

"Uh, yeah. I've never fired a gun in my life." I stare at the metal object in front of me, watching as it shined from the sunlight.

"I'll teach her." Dean pipes up, causing me to whip my head around in his direction. He didn't bother to meet my eyes as his gaze was focused on Bobby.

"Good enough for me," Bobby claps his hands together and smiles. "Let's go kill us some demons."

**********

"Wait, so tell me what we're doing here again?" I squint my eyes at the sunlight burning through my sockets, struggling to look out the car windshield. We were parked in front of a police station, all sitting around like idiots as we waited for Sam to return.

"Sam is going to see what he can find out about your case." Dean says, now sporting a pair of sunglasses that he managed to look way too good in. After we left the house he seemed to be back to his normal self. Although, I was still curious as to where things lied between us. That seemed particularly unknown.

"But wait, I thought we were going to hunt demons?" I ask, confused. The pistol Bobby had gave me laid at my side, untouched.

"Well yeah, but you can't just walk into a fight without knowing what is happening first. We don't even know which demons were involved, or if they were even demons at all."

"What do you mean?" Not demons?

"I mean yeah, I'm sure it is demons, but the possibilities are endless. We don't know for sure until we do the research and get it right. Now stop asking so many questions." he sighs as he kicks his feet up on the dashboard. I roll my eyes and Bobby does the same beside me.
