-Tyler's POV
12 daysAccording to Mr. Way, I've got a visiter, and I know for sure it isn't my parents cause they're at work. It's currently about half past 3, and when Melanie opens the door I smile sadly back at her.
She approaches me cautiously as if I'll blow up like a bomb at any waking moment, "Hi there, Ty."
"Hi. Melanie I'm so sorry-"
"Please, it's fine. It's not your fault. It was just a really bad situation. It could of been handled better." She shakes her head.
I don't reply, because she's correct. I woke up confused and in a different place strapped down. It most definitely was a bad situation.
After a few awkward minutes of agonizing silence she clears her throat, "Um, Tyler. There's someone I think you may know. If you don't that's fine I can reintroduce you." The door clicks open and a pink haired boy slides into the room causally, "This is Josh."
I think my brain may have combusted as literal fireworks shoot off inside causing my stomach to churn. Heat rises to my cheeks, and I hope to god I'm not blushing as much as I think I am. "I believe I remember you, Josh. What are you doing here? I mean-I'm sorry. That came out rude, I meant to say-"
"Shush, it's fine, dude. I'm here cause Melanie told me what happened and even if I don't know much about you, you're still a part of my life." Josh nervously wrings his hands and bites his lip. Not seductively or anything, actually I'm not even sure he realized he was doing it. Just a cute habit, "I want to learn more about you. I heard that making new friends after an, um, ordeal is a good therapy? No that-ugh. I'm sorry I'm awkward."
Despite being held to a bed, I giggle a bit, "You're just as awkward as me. It's fine. We can be awkward together."
I realize he has a bag with him, which he starts unpacking on the small table in the corner of my room. He grins holding up a poster: Donnie Darko. "It's your favorite movie right?"
"Haha yep. Has been for a very long time. Ever since I was 13." I can't believe he cares enough to do this.
"It's such a good movie. Ugh it gets me every time I watch it. Beautiful acting and plot line and ughhhh," He mocks wiping his brow, "Jake Gyllenhaal is freaking gorgeous."
Yep, he's gay. Josh is very gay, "I know right. So where are you gonna put it? The poster I mean."
Moving around my bed he points to a spot below the TV mounted on the wall, "This is a good place. So you can see it no matter what."
As he tacks it up I ask, "What else did you bring?"
With his back turned away from me he replies, "Your ukulele, some notebooks, sketchbooks, an iPod. I heard you didn't have anything in here and you'll be here for a bit, so I thought I would make it look a bit happier. And in doing so, maybe you'll become a little happier too."
What a nice thought, but no, "Awe thanks."
"I forgot to say they wanted me to tell you that after I leave they're going to change your bed. I don't think what you're in right now is the most comfortable."
I admire the ripples in his back of muscle that show through his sweatshirt, as he shuffles back and forth across to put things in their place. And his jawline that is so perfect and pronounced it could literally chisel a statue.
He's been talking about school but I've been a bit distracted by his body to tune in, "I think I have to go now. I'll be back tomorrow, guaranteed." Josh smiles at me, like an adorable idiot and after bumping into the table, makes his way out the door. And that, was how I decided he would be a good friend.I'd been so entranced by Josh, that I hadn't even notice Melanie exit the room. She hadn't said good bye. Maybe she wanted me to have him to myself. She brought him to me like a get-well gift, and what a wonderful surprise it was. That is what best friends are for.

Tyler's POV
12 daysJust do what they say until the end of the twelve days. At the last day none of it will matter anyway. Just hold on.
Hey now, hey now,
Don't dream it's over,
Hey now, hey now,
When the world comes in,
They come, they come,
To build a wall between us,
We know they won't win
