Kitty's POV
I walked up to Tia's door and waited for her to answer it. When she does we talk for a couple of minutes.
"Yeah." she says finishing the conversation.
"So you gonna let me in or what?" I laugh and she comes out if the daze she had been in.
"Oh yeah sure. " She opens the door and we make our way up to her room. I find her phone and check my Facebook. This girl gotta love me if she puts up with that all the time.
"Why weren't you at school today?" I ask scrolling.
"I was sick... well Naya was sick and my mommy had a doctors appointment so I had to stay home to watch her." She says. I nod and log out giving her my full attention.
"What's wrong with Naya." We walk out if the room and into the living room.
"Her skin peeling a little bit so the school say she can't go back to school until it stops."
Naya puts up her hands to show me.
"Are you kidding me? like really?"
"Yeah they said I can't go back until two weeks." Naya tells me.
"No they didn't they said Monday" their mom yelled as Naya started to put lotion on her hands." And you don't need to put that on all the time!"
"Come on." I follow Tia into her mothers room. I see a lot of boxes and a lot of things missing from there usual places. Kez yelled at us to move when we walk in front of the tv.
"So your really moving?" I ask Tia teasing a bit. She had told me before, but I hadn't actually believed it.
"Yes I'm really moving."
"Nah you ain't going no where. I know what your trying to do. Your trying to get me to be all sad and then I find out you moving up the street and I feel stupid.well it ain't gonna work."
"I'm glad you think that." She said and we walked out.
"Mom please tell her we really are moving and it's not just up the street."
"Oh yeah we moving. You didn't know that?"
"Oh Tia now you got your momma in on your plan too. Shame on you." We both laugh.
"Oh my god mom you hear this?"
"So when ya moving?" my laugh fades away.
"The second of next month." I look at mrs.Diane thinking she really is pulling my leg. It's the 21st of January already. That would only leave like a week and a half. And they weren't even close to being packed. I like to freak Tia out by acting like in going crazy with my eyes bulging out my laugh short of breath and my head bobbing around and I knew that that's what she expected me to do so I did. But only for it to turn into sobs moments later.
"No kitty it's gonna be okay." Her mom tells me. My face covered by my hands I nod and walk into mrs. Diane's room to compose myself.
"Mom why'd you gotta tell her?" I hear Tia ask as I shudder trying to stop crying. I know I probably sound very pathetic, but Tia had been like my best friend, like more than a best friend, she was like my sister. And I was supposed to just let her go. I was devastated by the fact that she wouldn't be just five minutes away. Instead she'd be like fifty miles away.
"Kitty, kitty we ain't moving." Mrs Diane tried.
"Yes we are and you never gonna see Tia again." Isaac taunted.
"Shut up!" her mom yelled. But I had already bitten her bait not wanting to believe or talk about it anymore. I walk out only to have Tia asking me whether I was okay or not. I wasn't and she knew it but she could see in my eyes and clenched jaw that I didn't want to talk.
"Hey uhh... don't tell no one yet though." I could tell she was debating whether or not to say anything. I nod to make sure she knows I got it. We end up staying at her house instead if going with the boys.
