Time to go

Goodbyes are the hardest when everyone says nothing will change that much, but deep down everyone knows it won't be the same. Des had spent the night at my house and we were making our way to Tia's house at 10:00 in the morning to say goodbye. I wasn't sad at the moment, I was happy because I got to see my babygirl. We got up to the door to knock and Tia came to the door in fuzzy pants and a blue sweatshirt. We walked up to her room and it was all over the place. Tables here, bags of clothes there.
"So your really moving huh?" I ask teasing her again.
"Yes I'm really moving!" she yells at me. I laugh and we all talk about Daren for a little while until its time to start packing up the truck her dad brung. Her dad was so tall and so fucking dark. He scared me,he looked like he didn't play. Like, at all.
"Hey are the boys coming?"
"I don't know"
"Well, ask them."
"Kk" she takes out her phone and pulls up Keith and starts to type. No answer.
"Okay your gonna bring theses boxes that we put on the steps down to the truck. Her father spoke and all five of us nod. Me, Tia, des, kez, and kez's friend Devon started to bring the boxes down. It was fun because since there was snow on the ground we had little snowball fights. And when the other boys came, they turned into snowball wars. We were so loud and having so much fun that the neighbor called the cops. We weren't allowed to touch the snow after that. I walked into Tia's now empty room to see if anything needed to be taken down. It made me sad. Miss Diane told all of us it was time for them to go. So I have Tia a hug, said bye to Naya and kez and started to walk away.
"What I don't get a hug?" I hear miss Diane's voice and I run towards her. I hug her. "Thank you so much for everything. I'm gonna miss you Miss Diane." I whisper to her.
"Oh girl, you know we'll be back." She said as our hug departed. I knew they most likely wouldn't, but I wanted to believe she was right so I told my tears to go away as she made her way into the car Tia, Isaac, and Naya were already in. Keith was crying. I was in denial and Zach, Cody, and des were all just walking beside us in silence. I tried to comfort Keith but he didn't want it. And I understood, sometimes you just need to grieve. When we got back to Cody's we all got ready to go to the skating rink. Roy came over and Hannah, Cody's cousin, decided to join us. We walked to the rink about a mile away. It was cool for awhile until I realized that drama couldn't stay away from us for more than a few seconds. Before my eyes Roy is getting pissed, Keith is walking away and des is following him.
"Where are they going?" I ask Roy who just got back from his own walk with des.
"They need to talk." He says. I bite my lip anxious to follow, but I don't. Instead, I start dancing in the road while all my friends yell at me to stop. Keith and Des finally got back and it was my time to get the scoop. I pull her behind the rest.
"Okay so what the fuck is happening."
"Nothing."
"What'd you and Roy talk about."
"I can't tell you yet."
I died.
"What's you and Keith talk about?"
"How he was feeling with Tia being gone. And what Roy and I talked about."
I nod. "And that was...??"
"I can't tell you."
"Pleeeeeaase!!!"
"Fine." She sighed. " We talked about you and him getting back together and stuff."
"And he said...?"
"He needs space and he thinks you need to be less self-conscience."
"Anything else?"
"He says he still like you and probably will want to eventually get back together, but most likely not anytime soon."
I didn't know what to feel so I changed the subject.
"How's my babyboy doing?"
"He's good, just misses Tia. And mad that Roy has money for food and he doesn't."
"Okay so nothing life changing with anyone today." I laugh and we walk the rest of the way with the group.
When we got there shot went down. Roy and des were hiding something and everyone knew it. We just didn't know what it was.
"Nothing happened."
"Where'd you guys walk?" I ask
"Just around to the store and back."
" But what'd you guys do?"
"Nothing just talked."
"And?"
"Nothing!"
I turn to Roy with a puzzled look.
He just looked at me like he was innocent.
"I bet they kissed" Keith said. In my mind I'm thinking "bitch naw".
"Yep I kissed Roy!" Cody and I stare in disbelief.
"No we didn't kissed we smoked." Cody, Keith, and I stare in disbelief and gasp. I stare back at Roy who was standing next to Hannah. I hit him and walked back with des.
We all skated except fir Hannah and Keith. They couldn't skate. Nether could Cody but he tried. It was so cute, since des and him were dating now. She held his hand and helped him keep balance. It was hilarious because she could skate circles around anyone and he could barley go a few inches without falling. We took photos at the photo booth and skated hand and hand. We all had fun that night, but I knew we were all thinking the same thing. If only Tia were here.
