The invitation (1)

A lot of things has changed since last year, first of all, no dreams, no little girls, no waking up in the middle of the night, no numbers on my wrist. Second of all Jessica left again to go live with her aunt and uncle in Europe, and she's a whole different story that I don't want to get into right now.

Last but not least I have new friends. I first met Jasmine and Ava after Jessica left; later on the introduced me to their friends Parker and Hunter. As time progressed, I started to forget what I dreamt about in-a-coma making it easier for me to live my life.

Parker and I are the best of friends, not romantically no and I'm glad to say I have completely gotten over him. I no longer get chills when we touch, and my heart doesn't beat as fast when he speaks to me. The butterflies in my stomach have vanished, and I'm euphoric cause I don't want things to be awkward.

Hunter, however, is an entirely different person he isn't the sweet little flirt that he used to be, I don't know what happened but the day I came back to school he just wasn't the same anymore.

He is grumpy and cold hearted to almost everyone, to be honest, I'm not surprised that he is sitting on the couch opposite me on his phone isolated. A scowl permanently etched onto his face; I'm not going to lie and say I'm not scared of him cause I am. Sometimes he can be a good boy but not to me.

I swear he has something against me, and I honestly don't know why?

Oh, and did I forget to mention Liam, oh yeah he's Jasmine's boyfriend. Meanwhile, the rest of us are single Pringles well technically Ava just broke up with her last boyfriend because he cheated on her so I guess not everyone is ready to jump back onto the dating train.

In front of us Jasmine and Liam are in a full blown make out section on the carpet, my face cringes up when Jasmine lets out a moan. I grab a pillow from next to me and throw it at them "Get a room animals", I complain. They pull apart but only for a second then they continue again. I throw another pillow, but that doesn't stop them.

Ugh.

I feel a sudden rush of relief and gratefulness as Ava and Parker walk in with food. I jump up from the couch and run to Parker, who is holding a bowl of popcorn; I snatch it away from his hands playfully. I forget about the two lovers on the floor and I fall onto them; the popcorn flying out of my hands scattering around.

They were lying side by side, and I just happen to fall in between them causing me get a face full of kisses from each side. That's not the worst part no, from the one hand I'm pretty sure I feel someone's ding dong rising. "Oh Nicole I didn't know you were the kinky type", Liam suggests seductively in my ear. I cringe as both of them lick the sides of my cheeks.

Parker is laughing in uncontrollable fits as he puts out a hand for me to grab, instead of taking it I flip him off and stand up wiping the wetness off of my face. "You guys are disgusting", I exclaim sitting down cross-legged on the couch. "But you love us", Jasmine says as she sits down next to me, soon after Ava joins us. "Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm bored out of my mind", she complains putting her head on my shoulder.

"Yeah", I sigh agreeing.

The boys are now sitting on the couch opposite us on their phones not paying attention to our complaining; I look around the rest of the room to find cans of beers and red bull lying around.

Knowing I have to clean everything up tomorrow is annoying cause my parents are coming home early tomorrow morning and these lazy asses that I just so happen to be friends with will still be sleeping by the time I wake up.

"Ooh I have an I idea", Jasmine chirps making me jump. She looks around at us and waits for confirmation to finish, I roll my eyes "What?", I ask, and she smiles even more but not a happy go lucky smile no, a mischievous one. The boys don't even look in our direction and Ava is scrolling away on her Facebook feed.

It's not that I don't like Jasmine it's just sometimes her chirpy and hyperactive personality clashes with my sweet one. Her face suddenly falls as if she just realised something "What time is it?", She asks with curiosity laced behind her words. Next to me Ava speaks "11:07 pm", she answers in a flat tone. Ava and I have very similar personalities, and we rarely get into fights since we agree on almost everything. Jasmine's face lights up again.

"So there's this game called..", she trails off as she looks over to the guys who isn't listening to her and grabs the pillow that my head is resting on out, and my head hits the hard part of the couch. "Jazz!", I groan, but she ignores me and throws the pillow at Hunter who is sitting in the middle of Liam and Parker. Caught off guard his phone slips through his fingers; falling to the ground. "What The FUCK Jasmine, I bought this yesterday!", he exclaims as he picks it up and as he sits upright Liam hits him at the back of his head. "Don't start", he warns, and Hunter just clenches his jaw while on the other hand, Parker is laughing at this whole situation.

"Now that I have everyone's attention may I continue?", She asks and I start to rub at my temples but before I can explode Liam stops me by speaking "Sure babe", he says, and I get a vile taste in my mouth at the action. "Okay so the game is called..", she trails off trying to create suspense, but all it creates for me is an irritation. "The Midnight Game", she says and as soon as I hear that I get up. "Fuck that shit I'm out".

Jasmine sighs with annoyance "Come on don't be a pussy Nicole", she challenges, but I let out a forced laugh "I'd rather be that then dead", I admit and when I mention death Parker eyes pop out of his head. "Excuse me what?!, did you just say dead like in dying as in not living?!", Jasmine waves him off dismissively "Don't listen to her she's just being overdramatic", She says rolling her eyes at me and I narrow mine at her.

That Bitch, I'm pretty sure she's had too much of the red bull and a little sip of the bat shit crazy drink they were serving in hell which is where we are all going to go if we play this game.

I've read about it on the internet and let me just say this every website it was on it says to NOT under any circumstances PLAY THIS GAME. So I'm going to listen to the hundreds of warnings it has on it cause isn't anybody got time to die young, I mean I still want to get married and have children, and I'm pretty sure you can't do that when you buried 6 feet underground.

That and I have let's say experienced paranormal occurrences more than once in my life, and I don't want to go through it again. It was the worst thing, and I'm just not ready to handle that again. Plus I know what it can do to a person, and I don't want them to go through what happened to me too. That's like asking someone to give their entire life up.

"So who wants to play?", she asks looking around the room as if someone's going to put up their hands or say yes pfft.

"Yeah sure why not", I look at Ava like she's grown three heads, I hear another yes from Liam Jasmine claps in excitement. "You guys are not serious-", I get cut off when Hunter says yes.

The only one that hasn't said anything yet is Parker who seems to be contemplating if he should or not but as soon as Ava whispers something close to his ear he smiles uncontrollably and immediately says yes. I gape pointing my finger at them "BLACKMAIL!", I accuse, and Ava blows me a kiss. "Ava please think about how dumb this is?", I ask, and she shrugs "It's something to do". "It could be the last thing you do", I reason frustrated that everyone is against me all of the sudden.

"Come on Nicole just this once", Jasmine begs and soon everyone chimes in asking me. Stay strong don't give in is what I keep chanting in my head. "For fucks sakes, Nicole just play the game", Hunter shouts with anger and Parker jabs him with his elbow in his stomach shutting him up. "Fine", I say through gritted teeth and everyone cheers; I flip them all off.

Liam smirks evilly at Jasmine "How do we play?"

I hope you guys enjoyed the first chapter. It's short cause I want to create a little suspense. I know that they made a movie about this game but I have not watched it 😂😂😂. So if it happens to sound familiar in some parts it's completely coincidental not on purpose and I'm sorry if there are any grammar mistakes I haven't edited yet.
