Liam smirks evilly at Jasmine "How do we play?".

"We first need the materials before we can start", Jasmine explains as I look at people's snap-chat stories. "Nicole", my head snaps up at Jasmine smiling at me. "Can you get candles, matches or lighters, paper, pins, pens and salt in bags for all of us", She orders and I raise my eyebrows at her. "What am I. A gift shop", her face drops. "How do you expect me to have enough of all that stuff in the house for everyone", I ask, but she just sighs "I'm sure your smart ass attitude will help you with that dilemma", I force a smile and leave before saying anything I'm going to regret.

I don't know what's up with Jazz today, her level of bitchiness is extra high.

I gather as much as I can from all the different places in my house, I grab a few pens and pieces of paper from my room and a bunch of extra scented candles in the kitchen cupboard and my parent's room. I'd open my father's secret cabinet of cigarettes and took out the box filled with matches and lighters; I grabbed the needed amount and put everything back where it was. I'd got sandwich bags from the kitchen where I filled them up with salt. Last but not least I took a few pins from the sewing kit.I count and make sure I have everything before I go back to everyone.

"Took you long enough", Hunter complains but soon after Liam stomps on his foot. Jasmine walks into the room looking around for someone until she sees me which is when she walks towards me and takes all the stuff in my hands. "Everyone follow me", she instructs. Following her, we end up standing in front of a wooden door.

shit she was serious.

"Okay so everyone take a paper, pen and pin", she instructs handing them out to everyone, she gives them to me last, and I bring them with hesitation. I hate this.

"Now write down you first name, middle name and last name on it", she says as she does so herself by pressing the paper on a nearby table. I find a table and put the pen to the paper, but I can't get myself to write. When everyone has done it I'm the only one that hasn't written it, and everyone looks at me, and I sigh forcing myself to write it. I hate this.

"What you do next is a bit creepy but it's no big deal. All you have to do is prick your finger with the pin and drop of piece of blood on the paper you wrote your name on", she says and I look carefully at people's faces to see if maybe they don't want to do it anymore but no, no one and I mean NO ONE has changed their facial expressions. Instead of backing out of the game they just follow the instructions "I'm sorry I can't do this", I exclaim. "There's no backing out now its too late for that", Parker points out. I sigh pricking my finger and watch as my blood falls onto the white paper. I hate this

"What now?", Ava asks impatiently. "you all put the papers in front of the wooden door", Jasmine instructs and everyone does so. Like usual I'm the last one to do it, and I feel Jasmine getting annoyed with my slowness. "Nicole does you mind putting off all the lights in the house so we can start before it gets too late", I point at myself confused as to why it's only me that has to do it. "Me", I ask.

"Yeah", she answers confused.

"Alone", I ask again.

"Yes Nicole", she answers irritated. I turn on my heel and start to walk away, but I stop and look back again. "In this big house", I ask, and I'm pretty sure Jasmine's head exploded. "For fucks sakes yes Nicole YES!", She shouts frustrated. I try not to laugh at the way her head looks like a constipated red tomato and walk away. Being smart I walk to the very end of the house and start putting off the lights there to work my way up to the living room which is where the others are. I need to find new friends.

When I reach the living room Ava hands me my deal of the materials, the candle, salt and lucky me I get the lighter. I turn off the light, and we all gather around the wooden door. "We are going to knock on the door 22 times and the last beat should be hit exactly at the strike of midnight. Since there is still a few minutes left let me explain what we have to do to win the game", she explains.I hate this. Everyone has light their candle so there is still some light source to calm my nerves but it's not enough.

"After we have finished knocking I will open the door then you will blow out your candle then relight it again when I close the door. The purpose of the game is to move around the house till 3:33 am and to try and stay away from the midnight man. If your candle goes out you have ten seconds to relight it, and if you're too slow you can use the salt to cover yourself in a circle, but the problem with that is that it takes longer. You're more at risk of getting caught by the midnight man and then you have to stay in the circle until the end of the game but doing that will also cause more risk of him finding you. At 3:33 am it is safe to put on all the lights, and then the game is over", she explains and hands us each a red bull. "We can not fall asleep during this since your putting everyone at risk so have a drink when you start to feel sleepy", She orders and I takes a deep breath and light my candle.

"Oh and don't leave the house or put on the lights and or provoke the midnight man", she says and in the little light there is I can see the smirk on her face "And everyone does it alone".

My heart beat starts to rise, and I feel sweat forming on my forehead, I don't like this. "Let start Knocking then", Jasmine orders and we soon start to knock simultaneously on the door and just to my luck the 22nd beat hits it at exactly midnight, Jasmine opens the door, and we all blow out our candles. Darkness surrounds us but it quickly goes away when Jasmine closes the door again, and all the candles get delighted. Everyone goes there separate ways, and I'm left alone with darkness surrounding me. I gulp

"Its gonna be a long night tonight."
