Heaven if you sent us down
So we could build a playground
For the sinners
To play saints
You'd be so proud of what we've made

"What are you trying to say?", he questions with a frown.

"I'm trying to say that whichever persons paper we find, that that person is going to die"

Standing in a room full of people grieving and mourning the loss of a loved one angers me knowing that the individual that did this is still out there. After the phone call, my sadness got replaced with anger.

We ended up going to the funeral after all. Afterwards, everyone came to the Reyes family home which is when everyone assumes it's the right time to say their condolences. Parker couldn't stand it anymore so he left in the first ten minutes. Liam and Jasmine went to the store to buy more refreshments, but I honestly think they left for the same reason Parker did. It's been an hour since they left and by now I know they're not coming back.

The only reason I'm still here is that Hunter's my ride and I have no idea where he is. I gave up looking for him and just decided to wait for him at the front door on the couch.

Hunter and I didn't speak the whole ride here; I can tell he still doesn't like me. He's the muscle, and I'm the brains in this mission?

Quest?

Adventure?

Investigation?

Yeah, the last one sounds about right.

Moments pass before I see Hunter emerging from the crowd with an emotionless look on his face, he doesn't look at me "Let's go", he demands walking past me. With a frown on my face, I follow him to his car, what jumped up his ass?

"Where are we going?", I ask unsure if I should even be speaking when he is like this. Starting the car, he speeds off not answering me, putting my seat belt on I sigh. "You know if we are going to be working together you're going to have to put whatever you have against me aside otherwise this is never going to work", I advise but in the corner of my eyes I can see him rolling his eyes.

I don't say anything for the rest of the ride and neither does he. We end up parking in the parking lot of a restaurant that looks unfamiliar to me, and I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "What are we doing here?", I ask confused as he takes out the keys from the ignition. "We need to talk, and I'm hungry", he answers getting out the car.

Dear God gives me strength for this boy.

I get out the car to see that Hunter is already near the door. Rolling my eyes I run after him, assuming he heard me running he locks the car while walking to the entrance. "You could have waited you know", I mumble when I walk next to him. "You could have been faster", he counters opening the door for himself.

This boy will be the reason I'll lie next to Ava in that coffin.

Take a breath Nicole and remind yourself you're doing this for Ava, not him.

I push open the door and start to walk over to Hunter, who seems to be asking for a table. "This restaurant is for couples only", the old woman behind the desk says pointing to the name of the restaurant behind us.

The Love Den

WTF Hunter?

"Fuck", he curses under his breath, soft enough that the old lady doesn't hear him. "So unless you have a date with you I can't give you the table", she claims.
