10 YEARS LATER

"Mom! I can't find Archie's bridle." My seven year old son yelled from inside the barn.

"It's in the trailer. Remember?" I yelled back. I didn't get a response, but I saw him take off to the trailers.

"Found it!" He yelled seconds later. I laughed and continued braiding my four year old daughters hair. After Wade, we had twins, Briggs and Amber. In another month we're expecting yet another baby boy. I love my family, and I love my dearest husband Sawyer.

Sawyer graduated from college when I was pregnant with the twins. We were able to move out of our little apartment and into our dream house. However when we went to put our first downpayment on the house, we found out that we had been out bid. I told my dad and he said we could move in with him. Later on we found out that he had been planning on selling the property and moving to Arizona to live with his brother. Apparently they were both getting too lonely.

Dad still moved to arizona, but not until after the twins were born. Sawyer and I now own and run the barn facility. It is a great place for our kids to grow up in, and all the boarders willingly lend a helping hand when needed. Whether it be babysitting or riding extra horses, or doing chores. They're great.

Last year Sawyer had enough qualification to open his own practice. We built a clinic for him on the property so he can work from home. He makes sure all our animals are healthy, and will have people bring their animals to him. Occasionally he will make a house call, but that's only like once or twice a week.

So honestly life couldn't get any better than it was right now.

"Codie. What are you doing? You need to be resting, not climbing all over the place. What if you fell and hurt yourself and the baby?" Sawyer yelled after me.

I had leaned a ladder up against the barn so I could change a light. Apparently I have to keep both feet on the ground until our baby is born, which shouldn't be too much longer.

"I'm sorry, it's just no one was here, and it really needs to be changed, and I am going crazy with this baby inside me." I said, starting to get emotional.

"Hey, shhh. It's alright, just call me next time and I'll be right there to do it for you. Now are you ready for our family night with the kids?"

I sighed. "I guess."

He wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me along with him. We got to the house and I saw Bailey.

"Oh my gosh! Bailey, what are you doing here? Where are the kids?" I asked while side hugging her since there was a protruding belly in the way.

"Well since you're getting close to your due date, I decided to come help out for a while in case the time comes and there's no one to help you. And your kids are changing into their pajamas, mine are with their father at home."

Bailey had two wonderful daughters, and a wonderfully sweet husband. She decided to stay in New York as a professional soccer player/mom. But she still visits us out here in Wyoming.

"Mommy!" A chorus of little voices yelled through the halls as our three children came bounding down the halls. Amber reached me first and hugged my legs making me stumble. Sawyer scooped the other two up before they could knock me over.

"Hey kiddos. Are you ready for a movie night with us and aunt Bailey?" I asked settling on the couch with Amber sort of on my lap. We all got comfortable on the couch and started watching Spirit. Sometime throughout the movie Amber moved to Bailey's lap. I was cuddled up against Sawyer who was rubbing my belly.

A sharp pain shot into my side and I hunched over to the left.

"You alright?" Sawyer asked getting worried.

"I think so. This little baby wants to get out of here." Sawyer nodded and leaned back against the couch.

The sharp pain returned another couple of times before the familiar wet feeling on my legs appeared.

"Okay! This baby really wants to come out. Like, right now!" I said a little louder. I looked between Sawyer and Bailey as I lifted myself off the couch a little until I was comfortable.

"What are you talking about?" Bailey asked.

"You dumby! My water just broke!" I yelled at her.

Both Sawyer and Bailey's facial expressions widened as they realized what this meant.

"Can we get out of here please?" I yelled as another contraction hit.

"I'll stay with the kids for a tonight. You take her, and I'll see you two in the morning with a new little cowboy." Bailey winked as Sawyer and I scurried to the truck.

"Hurry Sawyer!" I yelled squeezing his hand so hard that it turned white.

We made it to the hospital in record time. Sawyer carried me in bridal style.

"My wife is in labor, can someone help us?" He yelled as I pulled on his hair to let him know that he needs to make this hurry.

A few nurses came in with a bed and I was laid on it. I didn't let go of Sawyer the entire night.

Fourteen hours later I was holding a precious little baby in my arms. He had a bushy head of dark, curly hair and had the most perfect little button nose.

"We did it Sawyer. Another perfect angel." I said handing our baby to Sawyer. "Do you have any name ideas?" I asked him.

"I like the name Lane. Or maybe Travis."

"Really Sawyer, Travis? That sounds so nerdy."

"Sorry. But really, what about Lane?" He asked brushing his thumb across our son's cheek.

"Yeah, I like Lane. Lane Jeffrey Armstrong."

"Perfect. I love it, just like I love you." Sawyer said kissing me. We got a bit carried away and were broken apart by someone clearing their throat.

We took care of all the necessary things in the hospital, then I took a quick nap to catch up on energy for when the kids and Bailey came in to see Lane.

"Wake up sleepy head. We're here and I want to see the baby." My eyes popped open to see a smiley Bailey with the kids.

"Bailey, I just went through a fourteen hour labor. Please let me sleep. Ask Sawyer for Lane." I said closing my eyes again. I heard her sigh and walk off.

"Oh my goodness! He has the cutest little nose!" I heard Bailey squeal. Seconds later crying filled the room. "Sorry Codie." She apologized.

I sat up knowing I couldn't get any sleep now and took Lane into my arms. I shushed the baby and he soon fell back asleep. I invited the other kids to hop up on the bed with me. A little help from Bailey and Sawyer. They sat around me and watched in awe as baby Lane slept peacefully. I looked up and locked eyes with Sawyer. I couldn't be any more happy. This is my family. Sawyer and I created the four most beautiful beings on earth.

'I love you.' He mouthed to me.

'I love you too.' I mouthed back.
