Chapter Twenty-One

I lay staring at the ceiling; I couldn’t get over how amazing my night had gone. I felt Cody’s fingers intertwine with my own and I smiled.  His fingers wrapped tightly around my ring finger and I couldn’t help but roll over and look him in the eyes. He smiled and I kissed him. He rolled on top of me and I couldn’t help but rub my hands along his spine, I felt him shiver on top of me. I smiled into the crook of his neck and he sighed. I pushed him over and rest my head on his bare chest. He brushed my hair from my face with his finger, as I thought about last night all over again.

        “Gabby!” Cody called out.

        I sighed, “Yes Cody?”

        “Are you ready yet?” he asked.

        “No, Cody! I’m not ready yet, give me twenty more minutes.” I yelled.

        He sighed, “Hurry up our reservation is in an hour.”

        “I have time, leave me alone.” I snapped.

        “Don’t make me come in there.” He countered with a laugh.

        I smiled, “Don’t even think about it.”

 

        Before I knew it Cody was in the room chasing me around in just my panties and bra. I felt him pin me to the bed and I couldn’t help but smile. He was already dressed and he looks so handsome, as he usually does. I pushed him off of me and walked over to our closet. I pulled out a dress and turned to look at Cody. He smiled, as I slipped into the gorgeous red dress. I motioned for him to come over and zip me up and he did.

        “You look stunning.” He spoke.

        I smiled, “You look handsome.”

 

I walked off into the bathroom again and put on a very small amount of make-up, I grabbed a pair of heels before walking back out into the bedroom. Cody smiled at me he took my hand in his and pressed his lips lightly too it.

“May I escort you out to your vehicle miss?” he asked politely.

I smiled, “Yes you may.

 

He placed my hand into the bend of his arm as he walked me out of the bedroom and into the front room. He grabbed my coat; it was a bit chilly tonight. He placed my arms into each hole before placing it up over my shoulders. He brushed his finger lightly along my neck before bending his arm once more. I placed my hand lightly in his arm as we walked out of the apartment and to the car. Cody walked over to my door and opened it. I smiled, and sat down. He closed the door and I looked over to see how nervous he was. He brushed his jacket off before running around the car and getting it.

       

        The engine roared to life and I was starting to get nervous. I didn’t want to leave the apartment, I hadn’t left it in so long that my anxiety was starting to act up. I looked over to Cody and he could tell I was beginning to panic. He pulled the car over, before walked over to my side of the car and opening the door to pull me out.

        “It’s okay, babe.” He spoke.

        I spoke slowly, “I can’t do this.”

        “Yes you can, I know you can. I know this is hard but you can do it.”

        “I can’t.” I replied.
