Caught Up // Jimmy Butler

Chapter 3

Allison was cleaning out the last couple of things from her apartment since Xander would be coming to move in tomorrow. And, on her way out the door she ran into her neighbors from down the hall.

"Allison!" Her neighbor, Andrea greeted her, with her five month old baby clinging to her side.

"Hey, Andrea." Allison waved, approaching her, "And hey Kia." Allison said, smiling largely at the child.

"How's it goin?" Andrea asked, making small talk. The two went on like this for a couple minutes, just catching each other up on their lives, "Look, I know its super last minute, but would you be able to watch Kia and Isaac tonight?"

"Um," Allison thought out loud, "You know what, sure, I can do that." She nodded.

"You're a lifesaver." Andrea praised her, "I'm gonna go tell Josh, thank you!" She thanked again, rushing back inside to her apartment.

Allison made her way back down to the parking lot and called Jimmy.

"Hey." He greeted to her through the phone.

"Hey," She said, pulling out into the busy street, "So, Andrea just asked me to babysit her two kids tonight, feel like helpin me?" She asked hopefully.

"Uhh..." Jimmy trailed off, thinking about if he really want to spend his night around a bunch of kids, "Sure." He finally agreed.

"Good," Allison chuckled, "I'm gonna need all the help I can get."

"Hey, you two!" Andrea said to Jimmy and Allison, who arrived right on time, "Josh, they're here!" Andrea yelled back to her husband.

"Awwison!!" Three year old Isaac exclaimed once he saw Allison enter.

"Hey, Isaac!" She smiled back at him, "This is Jimmy." She said, pointing to Jimmy. .

"Hi Jwimmy." Isaac laughed, waving to Jimmy.

"Hey, little man," Jimmy said, kneeling down to his level, "How's it goin?"

"Okay, so Allison," Andrea began, pulling her away from the kids for a second, "They're all bathed and everything, so they just need to eat something and bed by seven-thirty." Andrea explained, showing her where they kept their stuff.

"I think we'll survive." Allison shrugged, glancing at Kia, who was sound asleep in her slowly swinging cradle.

"I'm ready baby." Josh announced, walking out towards the rest of the group, "Hey, guys thanks for the help. We needed it." He nodded to Jimmy and Allison, as he and his wife wasted no time in inching towards the door.

"See you guys later tonight!" Andrea said, as she shut the door behind herself.

"Well," Allison said, "You hungry?" She asked to Isaac who was busy showing Jimmy his toy collection.

"Chicken nuggets!" Isaac exclaimed, walking over to the kitchen table, "Can you pwease make me chicken nuggets, Awwison?" He asked sweetly.

"Since you asked so nicely," She replied, "Yes." She nodded, placing the chicken nuggets into the oven and setting a timer for them to finish.

"Thank yew." Isaac said with a smile spreading across his face, "Now let's play!!" He announced excitedly, dragging Allison by the hand back over to his toys and Jimmy.

Isaac got so excited that he let go of Allison's hand and basically jumped into his pile of toys.

"Wow," Allison said with a giggle, "be careful, bud." She said to the toddler, sitting next to Jimmy as Kia continued to be napping.
