I woke up on the morning April third with butterflies. After the long wait, it was finally the big day. By the end of the day, Danny and I would be married; together for the rest of our lives.
“Good morning, gorgeous,” Danny greeted giving me a passionate kiss. My lips curled into a smile against his lips at the thought of waking up like this every morning.
We ended staying in bed a lot longer than we should’ve. We were suppose to be at the wedding venue pretty early to get ready and take pictures and stuff like that. It was 12PM before I finally got up. I usually tend to sleep late when we’re home since there’s no fighting for the bathroom and no job to be done.
We had decided to get married at this fancy country club that also did weddings. It started at 3PM, but the wedding party, which was Danny and I of course, the rest of AA, Andy, Danny’s friend Matt Good, my sister Ariana, my niece Maria, Danny’s sister Kelly, Ben’s wife Sam, and Juliet, had to be there at 1PM. Ariana, Kelly, Sam, and Juliet were bridesmaids and Maria had practically begged me to be in the wedding so she was also a bridesmaid even though she was only eleven. At 1:15 we finally arrived and met everyone else who was already there.
“Cass!” Ariana exclaimed as soon as she saw me. We hadn’t seen each other a lot since I had moved to America five years ago and I had sincerely missed my older sister. I pulled her into a hug and then hugged Maria. It was so nice to see them again.
After our little hug fest, which caused some teasing from Ben and Cam, one of the guys who worked there told us where we could get ready and we went our separate ways.
“Your dress is so pretty, Cassidy,” Maria told me as she unzipped the dress bag I had used to transport it here in. She looked at in awe even though she had her own dress that was really pretty. She hadn’t seen it yet because she was still in England when I went dress shopping.
“Thanks, Ria,” I responded smiling at her. Even as she grew up, she was still one of my favorite people in the world.
Juliet, Ariana, Sam, Kelly, and Maria had all gotten changed into their dresses and did each other makeup. They all looked gorgeous. I had chosen lilac for their dresses and it looked amazing on all of them. The dresses had a sash at the waste, a v-neck, cap sleeves, and was knee length. Juliet, Kelly, Sam, and Ariana then got to work on my makeup and hair. After about a half hour, I looked perfect fro my neck up. I then quickly got changed into my dress. Just as Ariana was zipping me up, there was a knock at the door.
“Did you guys die in there?” a familiar british accent asked from the other side of the door. I let out a sigh. Gosh, Ben could be so impatient sometimes.
“God, Ben. Just because you can throw on a suit and be ready doesn’t mean we can do the same. Hair and makeup takes time,” Sam told him peeking her head out the door. They had been married almost five years so she was often making fun of him or yelling at him. Despite all of this, they were probably one of the happiest couples I had ever seen.
“But you’d like beautiful without makeup,” I heard Ben respond. Even though I couldn’t see his face, I knew he was giving her a goofy grin.
“Don’t make me barf. I doubt anyone wants to clean it up,” she replied before shutting the door in his face. She let out a sigh and shook her head.
“Wow, Cass, you look beautiful,” Sam told me as she turned around. Her mouth turned into a grin and I felt my face get hot. I always got embarrassed when people told me I was pretty because in my mind I wasn’t.
“Uh, thanks,” I replied as Ariana fixed my veil. I glanced at my feet which were in silver heals. “Um, I think we’re done,” I announced and everyone agreed. We walked out of the room, Sam shooting Ben a glare. We then headed to the room where the ceremony was being held to take photos before people arrived.

“Danny and Cassidy have written their own vows to share with you today,” the justice of the peace who’s name was David announced to the crowd of people. I felt the butterflies in my stomach flapped their wings as Danny pulled a sheet of paper with some words scribbled on it.
He cleared his throat and started. “Cassidy, from the first time I met you, I fell in love with you and I couldn’t imagine standing up here with anyone else. Even though I’ve been a complete asshole over the last thirteen years, you still stuck by me and I love you for that. I promise to love you unconditionally through out our marriage. I promise to try to stop being such an asshole and I can’t wait to start the rest our lives together,” he said. By the end, I had tears in my eyes. It was really the sweetest thing anyone had ever said to me even with the humor he threw in there.
“Cassidy,” David prompted giving me the ok go to start mine. I felt my hands get sweaty. To say I hated public speaking would be an understatement. I kept telling myself to just pretend Danny and I were the only ones in the room, but it wasn’t working too well.
I took a deep breath and looked down at my own sheet of paper.“Danny, after all these years, you were one of the only people who stuck by me and actually cared. You are my best friend and you are truly the only person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I love you more than anything. I promise to love you just the way you are, even when you are an asshole, and help you when you need me to. I promise to support your dreams and listen to all your demos even if they suck. And of course, I promise to always be the best merch girl you could dream of,” I said with a smile as everyone chuckled at the last bit. All my butterflies evaporated when I saw the smile on Danny’s face. I swear I saw his eyes watering, too.
“Danny, do you take Cassidy Taylor Benson to be your wife?” David asked looking at Danny obviously already knowing the answer.
“I do,” Danny answered after sending me a huge smile. To be honest, I had literally never seen him smile so much before.
“Cassidy, do you take Danny Robert Worsnop to be your husband?” David questioned turning to me. He gave me a warm smile.
“I do,” I replied my attention fully on Danny. I couldn’t wipe the smile off of my face. I was literally just so happy.
“The rings,” David said. Ben handed Danny his ring and Ariana handed me mine since we didn’t have a ring bearer. Danny slid the ring on my finger and I did the same to him.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride,” David announced looking almost as happy as me. Danny wasted no time cupping my face and colliding his lips with mine and it may have literally been the best kiss we had ever shared.
“I love you,” I whispered when our lips parted. I looked into his loving eyes as I placed my small hands over his large ones.
“I love you, too, Mrs. Worsnop,” he replied making me smile. I could definitely get used to being called that.
