My heart stopped. Why would she ever say anything like that?
"You still there Tay?"
My eyes began to water. What if it was true? I blinked the tears out of my eyes.
"I'm here."
"Okay, good." She sounded excited.
"No."
I heard Arrietty's breath stop for just a second.
"Why?" she said sadly.
"Because I love him. And i know that he loves me. I don't know how you came up with that crazy idea that he didn't love me. But I know he does. he is the key to my life. My knight in shining armor. My world. My life," I began to tear up and choke on a few words, "I'm never giving him up, because he never gave me up."
I hung up quickly and tears prickled down my cheek. I wiped them away and turned to Matt. He was concerned. I turned my microphone back on.
"Hi. Sorry. Arrietty just wanted to tell me something."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Something's wrong, what is it love?"
He called me love. The tears in my eyes began to eat away at me.
