Silence filled the skype call. I was scared. My video wasn't on luckily. I could feel my dad's eyes on me. I heard Matt clear his voice and said,
"Hi Taylor, where have you been?"
My throat felt tight. Arrietty and Matt's camera's were on. Arrietty wasn't looking at the screen at all.
"Taylor?" Matt asked quietly.
I went to the chat that only him and I were added to.
"I can't tell you now. Arrietty is here."
I heard Matt typing and Arrietty looked up at the camera.
"What's wrong love? I thought Arrietty was your best friend." Matt typed."Hey love birds, what are you talking about?" Arrietty said loudly which made Matt and I jump.
"Nothing." Matt said.
Arrietty raised an eyebrow. Rage rose inside of me.
"He's mine Arrietty. I don't know what you are trying to do, but I love Matt. And he's mine. I know that you tried to ruin my relationship with him by telling my mother and talking to him constantly. But he's mine. And you can't have him." I said slowly and wary of my dad, then I quickly hung up the call not waiting for a response. Arrietty's status turned to "Do Not Disturb."
I messaged Matt that I was sorry and that my dad wanted to talk to him.
"Alright love. I didn't know that was what Arrietty was trying to do. I'm so sorry I didn't notice."
"It's fine Matt. I promise." I responded.
Then I called him and once he answered, my dad's eyes grew big.
"Man, I think he's more handsome than me." he said and I hit him playfully.
Matt smiled.
"So you want to talk to me Mr. Spencer? I'm fine with it as long as I get to continue talking to your wonderful daughter." Matt said smiling.
I smiled and looked at Matt.
"I'm going to go and get something to eat while you guys talk if that's alright."
Matt nodded and my dad patted my shoulder. I got out of the chair and went into the kitchen.
