I didn't expect her to say anything like that at all. I closed my phone and sat it down on the couch. Matt and my dad were still talking so I stayed in the living room. I decided to call my mom and get it over with. Ring Ring. Ring Ring. Ring Ring.

It went to voicemail.

"Hi mum, I don't know when you will hear this but I hope you are having fun on your business trip. While you are gone I'm going to go to America and see Matt. Dad said it was okay. Don't worry about me, I'll be okay. I love you. Bye."

I ended the voicemail and closed my phone again. It was Saturday and I had one day to try and study to redeem myself in my grades.

On Monday, May 3, 2013, I got all A's. I tried my best to study and get ready to meet Matt. I was learning more English. My dad was very proud of me. He said I would be able to meet Matt. My life became so much better, I used to have low self esteem, I wasn't the nicest, and I didn't always try my best at things. But Matt brings out the best in me, and I love him.

Four days later my mum left me a voicemail. I was scared to listen to it. But I pressed the listen button and put the phone to my ear. There was a sigh.

"Taylor. I don't know what else I can really do. You really love him and I can't really stop you. But if he leaves you, I won't be your shoulder to cry on. Because I told you, Americans are nasty people. Just know that I love you and it's your life. Don't let me get in the way," there was a slight pause, "I'm sorry for how I acted. Your dad told me how nice Matt was. So i really am sorry. I hope you have fun though. I'll talk to you when you land. Bye."

I was smiling. I closed my phone and slid it into my pocket. I walked to my dad and gave him a hug.

"What are you so happy about?" he said looking into my once stormy eyes.

"She said yes."

He hugged me tight and picked me up. He twirled me around.

"I'm so happy for you! I knew she would come around." he poked my cheek and laughed.

"Your grades are good enough that if you miss a few days it will be okay. The school year is pretty much done anyways. So I don't think it will affect you." he said pushing my hair behind my ear.

"Should I start packing?" I said excited.

"Of course! Those tickets are good to October! So if you want to leave now you can." he said smiling.

I gave him another hug and ran to my room. I grabbed a bag and began to throw clothes into it. I wasn't thinking. My head and my heart were pounding. I was so excited. These round trip tickets were the best thing that ever happen to me. Other than Matt of course.
