As the dark tune progressed, Lili saw deep into Erik's soul through the feeling, the raw emotion, in the music that as so expertly written. He was a genius.
As that song faded out and Lili's eyes were still closed, her strait dark hair falling around her, Erik still stared. He didn't need to see the music on the paper, he knew it, memorized it. It was a piece he had written in a dark time, a time of need for another person, companionship.
"Are you tired, little one?" He whispered in her ear, playing a soft, soothing melody. Her eyes opened and she saw him staring intently at her and blushed again.
"How can I be tired with such music playing in my ears? Are you sure you are the composer of this masterpiece?" she was excited once again. He stared at her, and slowly stopped playing, the music echoing through the tunnels for several seconds and fading like a ghost.
"I have spent my life rejected by people, hated by people. Music is the one thing that has never and will never hurt. It's a spell, witchcraft of the best kind." Erik glided his soft hand across Lili's less-swollen cheek. Her eyes were filled with naive adoration for him. He knew she was under his spell. He started to sing softly, slowly.
My world sways to the measure of music
Come with me toward the sounds of praise
Not praise to any god in the sky
But to the creators of the sweet sound
Lili swayed as Erik pulled her up mid-verse and began to dance with her. Pink fog muddled her mind as she twirled and swayed to his magnificent song. They danced for several minutes around the small space, their eyes never leaving contact.
On the final note, Lili laid her head back against Erik's shoulder. He stood behind her, his hands on her corseted stomach, wrapping around her warmly. His soft lips brushed her ear. "Do you want to learn how to dance, Lili?" His voice was deep and low and warm.
                                    "Yes."
