Chapter 12 : The Accident

"This is it." Thought Kaneki. It had been a few weeks since Kaneki and Touka had that fight. This time, Touka had finally done what she said. She never talked to him again, not even looking at him, completely treating his as an invisible man.

Kaneki didn't talk much after the fight either. Everyone at Anteiku was worried about them, especially Hinami. She still thought part of it was her fault.

Today Sasaki and his friends came again. They came here everyday after that day they met Touka. They chatted, and laughed, and sometimes talked about books and schoolwork.

Touka brought their drinks to them and sat down. There were no customers to be served now, so they were free for a while again.

"Here're your drinks." Said Touka, and Shirazu took a big gulp. "Ah~ the tea here is good as always." He said, and Touka smiled. "Thanks, Shirazu." She said, and saw Sasaki taking out a book, titled 'Dreamers'.

"Hey Sasaki, you like that book?" Asked Touka. "Yeah, I like it, and we've been talking about this lately." Said Sasaki. "Oh cool! What's your dream?" Asked Touka. Sasaki scratched his cheek and looked up at the ceiling, thinking.

"Well..... I think I want to be a teacher. People around me all said if I work hard I'd become a great teacher, and I have the same feeling. So yeah, becoming a teacher's my dream." Said Sasaki.

"That's sounds good, it fits your personality well." Said Touka. "Hey Touka-chan what about yours??" Asked Mutsuki, sipping her coffee. "Well, tell me yours first, and I'll tell you after you guys finished." Said Touka.

"Ok I'll go first." Said Shirazu. "I wanna be a doctor!" Said Shirazu. "Doctor?? Why??" Touka asked. "My sister, she is suffering from cancer now, and the doctors still can't cure her of it, they're only keeping her alive now. So I made up my mind! I will become a great doctor and start a research on cancers, and I will try and invent a medicine that can cure cancers!" Said Shirazu firmly. "Wow that's so noble!" Said Touka. "Yeah, Shirazu's studying very hard now." Said Sasaki.

"Cool. Urie what about you??" Asked Touka. "Artist. (I draw very well.)" Said Urie. "Oh yeah Urie's painting are awesome! They're all surrealism!" Said Shirazu.

"Okay my turn. I wanna be an athlete! And I want to participate in the Olympic someday." Said Mutsuki. "Oh really? What do you excel at?" Asked Touka. "Gymnastics. I'm training with Suzuya Juuzou in your class now(they're in the same school but in different classes)." Said Mutsuki.

"You mean that white haired girl??" Asked Touka. "Yeah, but actually he's a boy." Said Mutsuki. "Oka--EH?!?!?!?! WHAT!?!?!?!?" Shouted Touka, shocked. Just then Hide and Yoriko walked in. "Hi Touka-chan! I heard someone screaming, was that you?" Said Hide.

"Big news Hide!! Suzuya Juzzou is a boy!!!!" Touka shouted. "EHHHHH???" Shouted Hide and Yoriko together. "SERIOUSLY????" The two shouted. And the four nodded.

"Wow, that's out of expectation." Said Hide, still a bit shock. They sat down next to them, and Touka got up and went to make their drinks. A few minutes later she was back with two cups of black tea.

"Here you go." She said, placing the drinks in front of them. "Thanks, Touka-chan." Said Hide. "Okay, Touka-chan, tell us your dream now!" Said Mutsuki, hoping to hear it. "Okay, I.... hm... wanna open a coffee shop." Said Touka.

"A coffee shop?" Asked Sasaki. "Yeah, and I want to name it ':re'." Said Touka. "':re'? Why?" Asked Shirazu. "Mn..... it's a kind of feeling. I was brought to this cafe when I was young, and grew up here. I also met a lot of people and made lots of friends. I also created many joyful memories. So I want everyone in my coffee shop to feel that they've returned to the very beginning, the beginning of everything, where joy and happiness still remain, where people don't need to suffer from stress and pain." Said Touka. Everyone was silent.
