Chapter 16 : His Or Her Advice?

A/N: yo~~~ I'm back!!!! About the last chapter, I'm not gonna let Takatsuki Sen join the war~~ so those who want her to join, sorry~~~~~ here's chapter 16! Please enjoy~~

Kaneki and Hide we're sitting at a table at Anteiku, chatting. "Takatsuki Sen really did that??" Asked Hide after hearing Kaneki talking about what happened when he and Takatsuki Sen met at the cafe.

"Yeah, but I don't think that meant anything. You know how she's like." Said Kaneki. "Yeah I know. What about Tsukiyama??" Hide said. Kaneki frowned. "He said it's better to do nothing before, but now he says he sees that something now about me is different, and if I do something, things could go in a favorable direction for me but it could go straight to the worst case scenario too. I don't wanna follow his advice though, it makes me feel sick." Kaneki said, trying not to think about that annoying face.

"Hm, maybe he's got a point, about the do nothing part." Kaneki opened his mouth. "But! I think you should be more aggressive." Said Hide before Kaneki could say anything. "So you think I should do something to change the situation now." Said Kaneki. "Yep, I do." Said Hide.

Kaneki sighed. "This is troublesome. I'm starting to feel confused now." Hide chuckled. "It's fine, you're gonna be alright. You still have chances." Said Hide.

"What do you mean??" Asked Kaneki. "Well, you know Touka-chan's going out with Sasaki, right?" Hide asked, and Kaneki nodded. "I think the reason why she accepted him was because she wanted you." Said Hide. "Wanted me? I don't get it." Said Kaneki, scratching his head.

"She wanted a replacement for the old you. At that time you were acting like a freaking asshole." Said Hide. "To her." He added, looking at Kaneki's unhappy face. "So, she thought she could find the old you in Sasaki, but it turned out that Sasaki's still somebody else, not you, and she must've realized that as well now." Said Hide. Kaneki didn't speak.

"I just hope I don't mess it up again." Said Kaneki shortly after quite a long pause. "You're fine! Man! Be more confident!" Said Hide, patting on his arm.

"Besides, you still have lots of girls waiting in line." Said Hide. Kaneki looked at him with a questioning look. "Don't tell me you never have realized it!" Said Hide. Kaneki shook his head. Hide slapped his forehead.

"Okay okay. Here we go. Girl number one," He straightened a finger. "Rize-san." Said Hide. "Rize-san? But we're just friends." Said Kaneki. "Oh yeah? You think a girl wouldn't fall for someone who has saved her life??" Asked Hide. ".........Yes." Kaneki said. "You know sometimes she looks like she wants to eat you, you know?" Said Hide. "Eat me?!"
"That's just an expression. You get it? That....." Hide was waving his arms in the air like two tentacles trying to grab a prey. "Kind of feeling....."
".....I kinda know what you want to say, I guess..." Said Kaneki.

"'Kay, girl number two," He straightened the second finger. "Eto."
"She's--"
"Normally!" Hide said, cutting him off again. "A girl wouldn't hug a boy whenever she sees him, unless she's in love with him, or she's just crazy." Said Hide. "I think it's the latter." Said Kaneki.

"Fine. Girl, or I should say woman, Takatsuki Sen." Said Hide, straightening the third finger. "Haven't I just told you--"
"Yes you have!" Said Hide, cutting him off for the third time. "But I still think, part of her meant that, I guess." Said Hide.

"So you want me to end up with a woman ten years older than me??" Asked Kaneki. "Anything's possible." Said Hide, and the two burst into laughing.
