Chapter 18 : Endless Night

A/N: I'm back~~~ sorry for the late update!! I've been busy lately! Here's chapter 18!! Please enjoy!!!!!

The music stopped.

Kaneki and Rize were about to take a rest, and they heard some noise from behind.

Sasaki accidentally tripped over Touka's foot, and pushed her to the floor, making a really loud 'bang'.

"It's your chance now." Said Rize, looking at the two. "Rize-san..."
"Go, or I'll eat you before you could even touch them." She said, giving him a gentle push on the back.

"Thank you, Rize-san." Said Kaneki. He started walking toward them. He felt something inside him stir. Every step he took made the stir stronger. Finally, he reached the two and the stir exploded. He seized Sasaki by the back of his collar and pulled him away from Touka.

He dragged him away from Touka and tossed him to the floor. Sasaki slid across the dance floor, and smashed into some tables, knocking the drinks on them off.

"KANEKI!!" Shouted Touka. Sasaki stood up from the pile of mess, looking very pissed. He walked to the two and stopped next to Touka.

"WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM??" He shouted, shaking with anger. Shirazu, Mutsuki, and Urie, who were running toward them, wanting to help, all froze.

None of them had ever seen Sasaki get this mad.

Kaneki started at him, looking pissed as well. "Keep your filthy hands off her!" He said. Touka gasped and started trembling slightly. She's never heard him talking like this before.

Kaneki's voice was calm and deep, but full of anger and suppressed intention to kill.....

"Oh yeah? Who the hell do you think you are? I'm her boyfriend." Sasaki said with a provoking tone. "I'm her....." Kaneki wanted to retort. "Friend....." He said, voice fading.

"You don't like me touching her, do you?" Said Sasaki, grabbing Touka's hand. "You--" He started to stroke her face.

Touka's expression started to change. She looked scared, uncomfortable, but not because Sasaki was messing with her, it was because of Kaneki's expression.

Red flashed through Kaneki's eyes. Something inside his body, a monster, a maniac, or maybe a ghoul, was raging. Touka knew something bad was gonna happen, something really, really bad......

And Sasaki crossed the line.

He leaned in and kissed Touka. Her eyes widened, and Kaneki's did as well. His eyes turned red, the creature inside him was ripping his organs apart. He wanted to punch him, he wanted to kill him, he wanted to tear Sasaki apart...

Kaneki shouted as he grabbed Sasaki's shirt and pulled him away again, and punched him really hard in the face. Sasaki fell to the floor as he spatted out blood from his mouth.

Kaneki was still shouting, and he jumped onto him and started punching him rapidly in the face. Kaneki was crying, shouting, punching Sasaki.

People were gathering around them, some were screaming, some were recording the scene, some were calling the police and the ambulance, and some were running away to get help.

Kaneki seemed to have forgotten where he was, why he was so angry, and how things ended up like this. He just kept screaming and punching Sasaki. Shirazu and Urie ran to him and tried to pull him away from the already half unconscious Sasaki, but Kaneki was stronger than the two, and with the flame burning inside him tonight, he seemed to be unstoppable....

And that cry pulled him back.

"KANEKI!!! THAT'S ENOUGH!!!!" Touka shouted, and Kaneki's fist stopped in midair. He looked back at her. She was clutching her arms, looking down at the floor, crying and shaking. And he looked down at Sasaki. His face was all covered with blood, and swollen. The blood stained his hair, making him look like he dyed his hair red. His hands lay helplessly on the floor. If his face wasn't covered with blood and all swollen up, people would thought he'd fallen asleep.
