Chapter 11: Feeling acomplished

Chapter eleven:

Willow closed her eyes and screamed some more. Aaron saw Willow falling and ran toward her.
"WILLOW!" He yelled and ran faster. Aaron caught Willow right before she hit the ground. They both breathed heavily, their hearts were beating a mile a minute.


"You... You saved me..." Willow managed to say as she tried to catch her breath, "Thanks Aaron." Willow hugged his neck tight.


"Guys come on its about to blow!" Katie screamed as she zoomed away. Aaron ran as fast as he could while still holding Willow. All of a sudden the robot exploded! The force of the explosion pushed the team off their feet and into a nearby pond. The team quickly got out and watched as a team of firefighters put out the giant fire that the robot created.


"Well that was a success." Aaron said sarcastically. Ryan glared at Aaron as he tried to dry his clothes.


"Oh, don't be like that. It was your fire bombs that made that thing explode!" Ryan sneered.


"At least no one got hurt, the whole town was evacuated." Benny said trying to be optimistic.


"Except Dr. Drill, guess he won't be a problem anymore." Katie sighed and wrung out her hair.


"Think again Katie." a voice said from behind the group. They turned to see General Wallows who had a grim look on his face.


"I watched the whole thing. He ejected from the robot just before it exploded." General Wallows explained.


"At least we took care of the robot." Ryan mumbled in disappointment. The General gave Ryan a pat on the back and grinned.


"Yes, not according to how ya planned, but it worked." The General gave a little laugh.


"Willow could have died today." Katie added sadly. Willow shrugged and gave Katie a small smile.


"Hey, life of a super hero right? And anyway, Aaron saved me." Willow grinned and looked at Aaron who just shrugged.


"Whatever." He answered plainly. Ryan glared at him jealously and folded his arms.


"Well, since we're done here, let's go home." The General smiled and the group headed toward the jet. Later that night in the boys room Ryan still kept giving Aaron dirty looks, but Aaron didn't seem to notice.


"Well that was a great day! We haven't had a mission in so long and this is just what we needed!" Benny said excitedly to Ryan, but Ryan wasn't listening, he was still glaring at Aaron. "Um, hello? Ryan?" Benny pushed Ryan to get his attention.


"It should have been me." Ryan said angrily.


"You what?" Benny asked confused.


"To save Willow. Not some lazy jerk who doesn't even care about anyone." Ryan snapped. Aaron looked up from what he was doing to stare at Ryan.


"I'm sorry, excuse me?" Aaron got up and faced Ryan. Ryan gave Aaron a mean glare and clenched his fists.


"You heard me, what are you going to do about it?" Ryan taunted Aaron and laughed meanly. Aaron ignited his hands and narrowed his eyes.


"Do you really want to mess with me?" Aaron asked calmly.


"Oh yes I do." Ryan snapped at Aaron. Quickly Benny got up from his bed to separate the two from their fight.


"Guys, guys, calm down. Remember what happened last time you guys got in a fight in our room?" Benny asked nervously trying his best to break it up.


Ryan remembered what happened, it was just a couple years ago and Aaron had just become the newest member of the team. Aaron hated that he had to be a part of a team and he still does, but he hated it even more back then.

Ryan had decided to pull a prank on him since he was the newbie. So in the middle of the night when they were all asleep Ryan picked up Aaron's bed and tossed him out. Aaron immediately started throwing fire balls in every direction and the room turned to ashes. Ryan cringed at the memory, but Aaron just smirked.


"Serves Ryan right for thinking that tossing me out of bed was a good prank." Aaron replied with a mean smile. Ryan looked angrily at Benny and walked over to his side of the room.


"Why did Benny have to bring that up?" Ryan thought to himself and turned his back on his room mates. All of a sudden there was a knock at the door. Benny and Aaron looked at each other confused. It was almost 10 pm. Who could be at their door so late? Aaron answered the door slowly.


"What?" Aaron asked, he looked out to see Katie standing there. She seemed happy, a little too happy.


"I came to tell Ryan something big." Katie said excitedly as she came in the room. Ryan turned around to look at Katie.


"What is it?" he asked, walking up to her. Katie looked like she was about to burst with happiness.


"Willow said that she likes you!" Katie almost screamed.
