Chapter sixteen:

Willow sped through the hallways and ran up the stairs to the roof. Slowly she opened the hatch and sure enough there was Aaron sitting in his chair looking up at the stars.

Willow closed the hatch as quietly as she could but it wasn't quiet enough because Aaron sat up straight.

"Hey Willow." he simply said and turned around. Willow looked confused and surprised at the same time.

"How did you know it was me?" Willow slowly walked over and sat down next to him.

"Because you're the only one brave enough to come up here besides the General." Aaron closed his eyes and smirked. Willow looked up at the stars and watched as they twinkled and shone brightly.

"So what do you want?" Aaron asked dryly. Willow stopped looking at the stars to see Aaron starring at her.

"Are you really going to run off forever after the General let's us out for the day tomorrow?" Willow asked honestly. Aaron sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Yeah but not forever, I've got some stuff I need to do.... And... Well let's just say that some of the stuff I have to do isn't the safest." Aaron replied and laid back in his chair.

"Then why do it at all? Why not avoid it?" Willow asked with a confused look.

"Because I can't!" Aaron suddenly snapped and sat back up in his chair. Willow stood up, a little shocked by the sudden outburst. Aaron groaned in frustration and walked over to the side of the roof.

"I have no choice, let's just leave it at that." Aaron looked over at Willow who had walked up next to him. The two were silent, all that could be heard was the sound of crickets and croaking frogs.

"Why do you care anyway?" Aaron all of a sudden asked. Willow looked down at the ground and smiled warmly.

"Because you're part of the team and like it or not you're my friend." Willow replied.

"Well don't worry about me alright? Everything's going to work out." Aaron gave Willow a small smile and walked to the hatch. "See you tomorrow." And then he went down the stairs to his room, Willow then went to hers.

The next morning no one went to their early morning training. They were all too excited about getting to be free for a day.

"Alright everyone, remember not to use your powers and at all costs stay safe." General Wallows commanded. The team just looked at him with funny faces.

"We're not six years old. We do know how to stay safe, well most of us do." Ryan looked over at Aaron with a smirk. Aaron ignored Ryan and just waited for the General to open the door.

"Ok, have fun!" General Wallows pressed the button on the wall and the door that led to the outside opened.

Everyone rushed out excitedly and started to go off in different directions. Willow was going to go with Ryan but then she noticed Aaron slinking off into the woods. Willow was curious and decided to follow Aaron, she went invisible so he wouldn't know that she was following him.

"Where is he going?" Willow thought to herself.

It seemed like they had been walking forever and the woods kept getting darker and darker even though it was still the morning.

Suddenly Aaron stopped and turned around, Willow froze, she didn't dare move. Had he heard her? Aaron looked around and then just shrugged, continuing to walk. They came to this clearing but nothing was there. Willow looked very confused for a second but then saw Aaron walk straight into it and disappear.

"What the?" Willow thought out loud and she furrowed her brows in confusion. Willow went over to where Aaron had disappeared and slowly stuck her hand out, it disappeared. "Wha!" Willow stepped back in shock. It was a cloaking shield and Willow had just realized that.

She walked straight through it and found that behind the shield was a big abandoned building. All it's windows were broken and vines and moss were growing on the sides of it.

Willow saw Aaron go into the building so, of course, she followed him right in. Inside it was spooky and it smelled like wet dog and old bacon. Willow tried to ignore the awful odor and followed Aaron who went up a long stairwell. There was a big grey door at the top of the stairs and Aaron walked right in.

"Bout time you show up." A rough voice came from the room.

"I came, didn't I." Aaron replied with a angry look. Willow slipped into the room and saw that there were three guys and the inside of the room was filled with weapons!

There were hand held cannons, fire bombs, grenades, blades, and so much more. Willow's eyes got big. These men were terrorists! What could Aaron want with these terrorists?

"So what'd ya bring us this time?" One of the men asked with a evil smile. Aaron tensed up and kept a straight face.

"Nothing." Aaron replied simply. The men in the room looked at each other and then moved in toward Aaron.

"What do you mean nothing?!" One man snarled.

"Yeah, you work for us!" Another snapped. Aaron held his ground and smirked.

"Not anymore, I quit." Aaron answered and glared at them. The leader of the evil men started to laugh and then looked over at his two thugs.

"You don't want to do that." he said to Aaron. Aaron glared at the leader even more so.

"Why not?" Aaron questioned him with gritted teeth.

"Because, we have your girl." The leader took out a taser shooter and shot in the direction of Willow. The taser shooter shot Willow and she fell to the floor, turning visible.

"AAHH!" she cried in pain. Aaron ran over to Willow with a shocked and angry expression.

"What are you doing here?!" Aaron asked her and helped her up.

"I wanted to help." Willow answered and winced at the pain of being electrocuted. "How did you know I was here?" Willow asked the leader. The leader held up a device and smiled.

"Motion detectors. You're fortunate that I didn't kill you as soon as you went through my shield." He laughed evilly.

"Shut up Don! I'm done with all of this!" Aaron screamed and helped Willow out the door. Don waited for a moment and then smirked.

"Kill them." Don told his thugs simply.
