8: The Note Is Not Forgotten II

Belle's P.O.V.

I started to lean in, but Dipper crashed his lips against mine, very quickly.

I heard a squeal and he and I jumped apart.

"OH MY GOD!" Mabel fainted into the bushes.

"So.." Dipper said, "I-I've been meaning to show y-you something."

"Y-y-y-yeah?" Gosh, my stuttering was getting out of control.

He pulled something out of his pocket, and handed it to me. I unfolded the paper to find it blank.

"A-a blank piece of paper?"

"No, it says something. Do you not see it?"

"Nope," I said, popping the 'p'.

"Oh. Well, it says:

You won't have the foggiest notion,
To when his plan is set in motion.
To what my power has in store,
A tip, Pinetree: Believe the lore."

"Wow. Maybe from Bill?"

"No. Someone working with Bill. Otherwise it would have said 'I' instead of 'he'. Just...don't tell Mabel."

"I promise." I went, cupped water into my hands, and splashed it on Mabel's face.

"ONWARDS AOSHIMA!" Mabel screamed as she woke up.

"What the?"

"Don't worry," Dip said, "it's a normal dream since the smile dip incident..."

"Don't tell her!" Mabel screeched.

"Too late," I said. "SHE already knows."

"Dip. Dip. Go ahead of us. I gotta talk to Belle."

He walked ahead of us, and once he was out of earshot, Mabel asked me, "Do you like Dipper?"

"Yeah," I replied, "He's my best friend." I knew perfectly well what she really meant.

"You know. Like like?"

"No." I did my best to keep myself from blushing, but she saw it.

"OH MY GOD!" She squealed, "YOU LIKE---"

I cut her off. "Quiet, or I'll give you a bad nickname."

"Fine. Why'd us kiss him?"

"To help you fangirl."

"BelleDip is real!"

Muttering, I mentioned under my breath, "I wish."

"What was that?"

"Coughing...it was coughing." I added in fake coughs for good measure.

"MABEL, YELLOW!" We heard a scratchy voice call.

I told Mabel, "Run. I'll deal with them. And don't come back, meet you at the shack."

Mabel took off, calling for Dipper.

"Hello, Jeff."
