I let out a small happy sigh as I tried to catch my breath, my heart's quick pace making my chest throb. Alistair laid beside me, his face planted in a pillow as his fingers lightly grazed my stomach. I looked at the ring on his ring finger and smiled, grabbing his hand and intertwining our fingers together. He moved his head onto my shoulder and smiled softly, kissing the marks he left there.
"You are covered in hickeys and bites." Alistair said with a small laugh. I squeezed his hand a little and smiled.
"That's your fault." I giggled softly. He placed his hand over my lips and made a shushing sound, kissing my chest. I playfully rolled my eyes and nipped his hand, resulting in him pulling his hand away and giving me a quick kiss.
"I'm simply marking my territory, so hush and let me love you." I giggled and nodded softly, tucking my hands behind my head.
"Do what you want, this is a once in a lifetime chance." I say in a small voice. Alistair looked at me and smiled, running a hand through my hair and slowly licking my cheek with a chuckle. I tried to squirm away but he kept a firm grip around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
"That's not what I meant!" I laughed. He looked at me and grinned, kissing me softly.
"I love you as a person, not as an object." He said in a soft tone. I blushed a dark red and wrapped an arm around his neck, my other hand trailing down his chest.
"You're perfect, you know that?" I said, looking into his eyes. He smiled and placed kiss after kiss onto my face, then he hovered over my lips, rubbing his thumb against my neck.
"So are you." He replied, closing the gap between us with a sweet kiss. I smiled and started returning the kisses, lightly tugging his hair. He chuckled lightly as the kiss became deeper, pushing me against him as he flicked his tongue against mine.
"You guys are cute together." Greg smiled, pointing a wrench in our direction. I jumped and looked at him, Alistair just ignoring him and kissing my neck. I lightly hit his shoulder but he just huffed in response, moving away from my neck and looked at Greg with a bored expression.
"Hey, sorry to be a bother man. But some cops wanna talk and I'm not the one they wanna talk to." Greg shrugged, walking out of the room. Alistair sighed and got up, pulling on some underwear and a pair of basketball shorts, looking at me and tossing me one of his shirts and my underwear.
"Let's just get this over with." He said. I pulled on the shirt and underwear, pecking his nose and walking into the living room. I heard his footsteps behind me and then they came to a halt, curiosity getting the best of me as I turned around to look at him. I slowly moved my gaze in the direction of where he was looking and blinked, my heartbeat quickening. Altair sat in a reclined chair in the living room, chugging down a bottle of some kind of alcohol and slowly fixating his gaze on me.
"Oh, hello there guys. I've been waiting for a while." He said with a toothy grin, carelessly tossing the bottle to the floor and standing up in a sluggish way. I slowly backed my way into Alistair with a knowledge of how dangerous he was, even if he was drunk off his ass. Altair found my cowardness amusing as he roughly grabbed my arm and pulled me to his chest, petting my hair and placing his other hand firmly on my jaw.
"Now, before you go throwing punches, just know this is for you Alistair. Consider it a wedding gift." I felt tears run down my cheeks as I struggled against his tight grip on my body, screaming against his arm as he put his bleeding wrist into my mouth. Alistair reached out for my hand I had extended out to him but that resulted in Altair moving his hand on my jaw the wrong way. I let out a small squeak and felt my body hit the floor, my hair covering my eyes and an irritating ringing noise in my ears as I felt scissors cut my already thin sting called life.
Slowly consciousness came back to me, a burning pain in my gums and a stinging pain in my neck.
"What happened?" I groaned out, rubbing the back of my neck and looking around the area. I was in Alistair's room, but there was no Alistair this time. I slowly crawled out of the bed and squeaked when I heard a loud clatter, walking out of the room and looking back into it for the cause of the noise. Nothing. Of course.
I sigh and head into the living room, seeing a small pool of crimson in the center of the room which made my stomach crawl. I clapped a hand over my mouth and played back the past memories, realization hitting me like a brick.
"N-No, I won't accept it. I'm not... I'm not suppose to." I moved my hand from my mouth and looked at Alistair, who was coming from the kitchen with a small cup in his hand
"Sadly, you are. But I'm here to help, it's what I do." He said, looking at me as if I was a completely different person. I bite my lip and hugged myself tightly, tears rolling down my cheeks as Alistair walked closer. He set the cup down and pulled me to his chest, rubbing my back softly.
"You'll be okay, I promise you'll get through it." He whispered. I hiccuped and looked up at him through my teary eyes, shaking my head a little.
"No, not this time, not everything will be okay." I say, pulling away from him and wiping away my tears. He sighed and moved some hair from my face, kissing the top of my head.
"Yes you will-"
"NO! Don't you see it Alistair? I'm fucking dead!" I shout, moving his hand away and clutching his t-shirt I was wearing.
"So what am I then, just some dead thing?!" He shouted back, running a hand through his hair. I looked up at him and tears threatened to spill again.
"Of course not, you're more than that to me." I whispered, hugging myself again. He bit his lip softly and pulled me back to his chest, resting his head on my shoulder. And for the first time I saw his tears, his chest heaving with each sob he let out on my shoulder. I rubbed the back of his neck and tangled my fingers in his hair, pecking his forehead softly.
"Don't cry Alistair, I still love you. Nothing will change that." I hushed him softly. He looked at me and shook his head a little, tears still rolling down his cheeks.
"I don't deserve you, I don't deserve anything you've given me." He whispered, sniffing a little. I smiled softly and pecked his cheek.
"Don't say things like that, we have an eternity."
