Chapter 9

Melissa’s POV

That was really nice. It was good to spend some proper time with Riley, laughing and joking around like we usually do. I don’t really want to leave him, but I want to see Seth more, and I’ll be seeing him tonight anyways.

It was 2:30 when I got home, so I called Seth and said he could come over.  Good thing the family are visiting my grandparents today, I really don’t want Seth to meet them. He thinks his parents are bad, wait till he finds out about my entire family.

Ten minutes later, Seth arrives. Damn, how is he that fast when it comes to driving, but ridiculously slow when it comes to texting??

Confusing much?

I open the door for him, and he greets me with a really nice hug, the kind that has you lifted off your feet-squeezing tightly-leaving you breathless-gives you butterflies-but still makes you smile. Once he settled me on my feet again, I pulled his face down and gave him a long kiss.

He smiled against my lips, “I missed that.”

“It’s only been a day!” I said leaning back to look at him.

“Exactly,” he replied. Ok, now I’m confused, that doesn’t make any sense! He laughed at the expression on my face, hugging me again.

I lead him inside, walking to the TV room, “So King Kong, you want to see the house?”

“Sure.”

I lead him through to the kitchen, the basement, the bedrooms and bathrooms, and lastly my room.

“So, this is my room. It’s not much, but it’s mine.”

Seth walked in, staring at everything. My faded blue walls are almost completely covered in random pictures or photos or my artwork. All my shelves had on them were books, and lots of them. The rest of my room was cluttered with clothes and papers and more books and my laptop hiding somewhere amongst everything, very unlike his very clean room.

He looked into my spotless bathroom, turning to me with a confused look, “Your bathroom… it’s so clean…?”

“I can’t have a dirty bathroom, it freaks me out,” I explained to him simply.

“Ah, I see,” he turned again to inspect all of my books.

I sit down on my bed while I wait for him to finish his very thorough inspection. When he finally finished, he sits down next to me, “I like your room. It’s so…you…”

I smiled up at him, “Well, I do spend all my time at home in here. I want to see things I like.”

“So, is it ok for me to be here then?” he asked me unsurely.

“No. Not at all, you’re ruining everything, get out!” I could see the shock and a little hurt make its way onto his face, “I’m joking!”

He sighed in relief, “So what do you want to do?”

I checked my clock for the time, its 3 now, there’s not enough time to watch a movie and I’m too lazy to dig for my laptop, so I made Seth some lunch and we watched some TV together. At 4:30, I got up to do some last minute packing and made sure I had everything I’d need for the week.

Seth followed me to my room, watching me intently, “Where are you going?”

“Oh, I forgot to tell you, I have a karate camp I have to teach at till Friday,” I answered without looking up.

“Where?”

“Up by Cultus Lake. Why?”

“I’ll drive you,” I look up and find him standing right next to me.
