Lucky

So today we are going back home. I put all the bags in the trunk and closed it. I walked in the house to see Clover talking to Krystal. "Lucky come here son" my dad yelled from the garage. "Yes sir" I said walking in the garage. He was sitting in his old Nissan. "Have a seat we need to have a sit down" he said and I got in the car. "Son you are 18 and your mom has officially gone crazy. I want to go ahead and give this to you. I was going to wait until graduation but plans change" he said handing me a shoe box. I opened the box to find a key and a stack of money. "What's this for dad" I asked.

"Those keys are the keys to my vacation house. That is actually the house you were conceived in but we won't talk about that. The house is off of 5th south on 510 Monroe road. It is fully furnished. All you have to do is buy food and other things you may need. That is why I gave you 5Gs" he said. "Thank you pops" I said. "No problem son" he said. I pulled him in a hug. "Don't let me down son. Go to college and be something. Get a job and encourage your lady to succeed" he said letting go. "Yes sir" I said as I nodded. He got out of the car and I got out closing the shoe box.

We went back in the house and I went to put the shoe box in my trunk. I walked back in to see Kyra talking to Clover. "Do you think that he got that girl pregnant" Kyra asked. "No I trust Lucky. Plus he told me he was waiting until marriage" Clover said. "But men lie" Kyra said. "So do women. Who am I to believe? It's up to me right? I believe Lucky" Clover said. "Hey Clover. You ready? I have to go check something out" I said. "Yea" she said. "Lucky you have to bring them back so we can go shopping" Kyra said. "Okay. I will. See ya Kyra. You and Tootie should come visit us sometime" I said. "Ight just text me" she said. Clover grabbed Loyalty and we went to the car.

We drove to the address my dad gave me. "Where are we going" Clover asked. "It's a surprise to me and you" I said. We pulled up to a nice sized house. "Where are we" Clover asked as I parked. "At my new house" I said. "Your dad gave you this house" she asked. I nodded as I got out of the car. I got Loyalty out and went to go unlock the door. We walked around the house and it was a nice three bedroom two bath house. Clover sat on the couch and looked at Loyalty who was wobbling around. "So...how do you feel" she asked.

I sat down next to her. "I don't know really. I mean I don't have to live with my mother anymore. I just don't think I'm ready to live alone. It's so much to take in right now" I said honestly. "Well why don't you try to deal with your mom until you go to college. Go ahead and get you a job. Save up and prepare yourself. Just know if your mom gets to crazy you have somewhere to go without running to your dad" she said. "I guess you are right" he said. "I know I am boy" she said putting her feet on me. "Maybe we can get a job together" he said. "No sir. We can both get a job at the mall but I don't know about at the same place" she said. "Why not" I asked pulling out my vibrating phone. "You aren't going to work. You are going to be distracted. I know you Luck" she said. "Nah you just don't want to beat up somebody if they try to talk to me" I said getting up.

"Hello" I said answering the phone. "Lucky where the fuck are you" my mom asked. "I'm on the way home man" I said. "Where the fuck have you been" she asked. "I went to see my dad" I said grabbing Loyalty. Clover went to start the car as I locked up the house. "Did he give you some money" she asked. "Yep. He gave me some money" I said putting emphasis on me. "Well he probably wanted you to give some of it to me. How much did he give you" she asked. "Ten dollars" I lied as I put Loyalty in her seat. "Aw you can have that. Hurry up and come home. I need to talk to you" she said. "Ight whatever mom" I said. "Bring me some food home" she said but I hung up.
