Natalie's POV

When I got to school in the morning, I was running a bit behind my normal morning schedule, so I didn't have time to stop in the lunchroom with my friends. But it surprised me when I got to English that Nic was no where to be seen. Usually she came to English, probably to bother me, it would seem. As I took my seat, I felt a vibration in my pocket, and I realized that it was my phone.

I usually never got texted, except by my parents and that wasn't too often, so the movement in my pocket surprised me. As I pulled it out, I noticed that it wasn't a number that was registered in my contacts, confusing me a bit. It was only a text message, so I just decided to read it real quick.

Are you Jewish? Because you ISRAELI HOT. By the horrible pick up like and unknown number, I instantly knew that it was Nic who was texting me. After saving her number into my contacts, I went to text her back, but the bell rang, making me instantly put away the device.

Throughout the entire class period, my phone would go off every fifteen minutes. By the time class had ended and I could check the device, I had three new text messages.

Are you a campfire? Cause you are hot and I want s'more.

Are you a banana? Because I find you a-peeling.

Do you work at Starbucks? Because I like you a latte.

I smiled at the lame pickup lines and continued to class. And on it went. Every fifteen minutes I would get a text from Nic of some horrible pickup line. By the time lunch rolled around, I was smiling like an idiot. Even though the pickup lines were bad, she had obviously put in a lot of effort to text me every fifteen minutes. She probably set an alarm or something to remind her.

"Guys, somebody's kidnapped Natalie and replaced her with her evil twin." I looked up from my phone, giving John a glare before placing it in my pocket.

"Very funny, John. You should become a comedian or something." He just gave me a smirk as I sat at the table with them.

"Seriously though, why were you smiling? The only ones who normally text you are your parents and you usually scowl at those." Paris's question threw me off a bit, making me hesitate about telling them.

"Just some funny picture Nic sent me." All of their eyes widened as I spoke Nic's name, making me glad I didn't say pickup line.

"Wait, you gave Nic your number?" I nodded slowly, not sure why they were acting like this.

"Yeah, we are friends. And I'm tutoring her, so I gave her my number in case she had questions about homework or anything. What's the big deal?" London and Paris exchanged looks before standing and coming over to me.

"How about we go for a walk out in the hall for a moment?" Even though London had asked as a question, it felt more like a command. I nodded silently and followed them out into the hallway. On the way there, however, I was able to get a glance over to Nic's table, but she wasn't there.

"Okay, spill, Natalie. Ever since Monday, you've been acting weird. Did something happen between you and Nic?" At that moment, I knew that I was going to have to spill my guts to them. I'm just glad it wasn't Amy who asked me, because that girl has a mouth bigger than the Nile.

"Okay, fine, I'll tell you. So, Tuesday, during our study session, we kind of, no, we definitely kissed. And we sort of have a date for tomorrow. And she's been texting me really awful pickup lines all day." Their eyes widened simultaneously as I mentioned the date, which made me worry a bit.
