Part 3 - History Class

'Where is that book? Maine tried searching her History book again. Pasimple lang nyang hinahanap ito for the last 5 minutes. She look inside her bag, the stack of books she's carrying but she can't find it. 'Ugh....were could it be?'' Mapapaisip siya...'oh no! Baka di ķo nadampot sa pagmamadali. I hope it's still there or sana may nakapulot. May name ko naman yun inside'.

'Ms. Mendoza! What are you doing? Ms. Cassy asks

'Oh..uhm..Ms. I-i can't seem to find my book' Maine stammered

'Why is that?' Ms. Cassy

Hindi alam ni Maine if she would tell the truth na she might have lost her book during the incident a while ago...humanda talaga sa 'kin ung...ung cute na lalaking yun..

'Hmm...here...you can borrow mine for the meantime' Ms. Cassy handed her book to Maine. 'Be sure to give it back after class.'

Maine hesitantly accepted the book and look around her...surprised eyes met her. It is seldom that Ms. Cassy offers her something to her students. The class continued for another 30 minutes. The bell rings.

'Ok class, tomorrow will be a graded recitation..come prepared. You know what will happen if you're not. Class dismiss! Everyone started to stand up.

Maine fix her things, went to Ms. Cassy's table and gave the book back. She said thank you and went out the room. Sarah is already at the corridor waiting for her.

'So what's up?' Sarah to Maine

'What do you mean?'

'Your book, how will you find your book?' Sarah asked. She knows how Maine is with her things. She gets restless and will not stop looking for it until she finds it. Give her 3 days before she accepts that its really lost.

'and hey, what have you done with Ms. Cassy, what she did earlier, you know, it's unlike her...' talking about Ms. Cassy's lending her book to Maine.

'Yeah, I know right. I was also surprised. I didn't expect that. Of all people si Ms. Cassy pa. She's the grouchiest person I've ever met.

'Maybe she has a change of heart?' Sarah

'Hmm...' Maine said distractedly still thinking how she would find her book.

'Wait.' They stopped on the same area were she and Mr. Cute guy accidently bumped earlier. She scan the floor looking for her book but nothing. Maine also ask some students milling around. But all answered the same - they haven't seen a book.

Maine and Sarah resumed walking 'Nobody's seen my history book. So ano na nangyari dun?' Ask Maine

'Well, it only means someone's got your book...hmm...di kaya si cute guy ang nakakuha?....Menggg.....' kinikilig na sabi ni sarah...

'C'mon bes...wag ka nga...don't you dare! Akin lang si Cute ha!!! Warned Maine pero pinipigil din ang kilig.

'Finally! you met him up close and hindi lang close! May contact pa!!!! At sabay silang nagtatatalon sa kilig. Not aware of the stares their getting.

Nang mahimasmasan 'What will you do bes if nasa kanya yung book mo? But how will you know if nasa kanya nga?!' Sarah asks

They are now at the gate. 'Wait bes, I'll just tell manong Raul we're here' and phoned their family driver.

2 minutes later, their on their way home.

'Hindi ko alam bes pero sana wag akong mangisay pag nakaharap ko ulit siya..' she can't help her kilig and smile. They talk nonstop on the way.

'Bes thanks for the lift. One week mo na ako sinasabay' si Sarah before getting off the car in front of their house.

'You're always welcome bes and it's ok. Wala yung parents mo and mas ok nga di ba we have more time to chika. Why not stay in our house while your parents are away?' Maine suggested
