Part 4 - The Book

Maine's eyes widen as she realized she's looking at her book! It's my book! She knows its hers. All her books are color coded. She put a glittery colored paper along the spine of her every book. Nakakahiya dahil pang elementary pero it works for her and she thinks its cute.

Mr. Cute guy opened the cover while bombay-looking guy looks over. They look at each other, smiled and high fived.

'What?!?' Maine whispered 'what does that mean? Pa high five high five pa kayo?' Maine starts to get angry.

She slide the window all the way down. She was about to shout when the car move forward. Nag green light na pala.

'Mang Raul, I need to get down the car!

'Naku Meng, naka go na tayo, makaka-traffic tayo at baka mahuli tayo'.

'para mo po dyan Mang Raul pag tawid, I'll get off'

'ok sige' nagtataka man pero tinabi nya sasakyan and put the light on hazard.

Pag baba ni Maine, she saw their cars just pulled off the parking area and is headed in her direction. The front window of the passenger side is open and she saw moreno guy looking at her as they passed by their car. She just stared until the tail lights of their cars turned left.

She went back inside the car 'sige po Mang Raul let's go home na po'. Once inside the car she immediately phoned Sarah.

'Sarah I think I know who's got my book' Maine exclaimed

'Really? Who? Sarah

'Puppy! Puppy got my book!!! She almost shouted

'Huh? Puppy as in doggie? Pano nakuha ng puppy book mo? No pets allowed inside the school, right? We need to report that to the school administration..what if that puppy bit someone? What if it bit me? Oh my God! What if di pa vaccinated yung puppy? Sunod sunod na sabi ni Sarah

What?!...Wait Sarah, hold on...don't get hysterical...dami mo agad sinabi'.. natatawang sabi ni Maine. She remembered her friend is not a dog lover.

'Puppy is not a dog! Puppy is Mr. Cute guy! I don't know but I heard his friend called him Puppy and he's got my book Sarah! He's got my book!

'Wait bes, you mean puppy is not a dog? Si Mr. Cute si puppy?' Sarah repeated. 'Weird...wait, nakipagkita ka sa kanila? Akala ko ba you're going home? Ask Sarah getting confused by the minute.

'I saw them at a 7-11 store on the way...the three of them' she look outside and saw that they are now entering their gate. 'Ok I need to go, I'll tell you all about it tomorrow...bye'. Ends the call.

'Tay! Nay! I'm home...' her parents are in the living room and she bet they're waiting for her especially her tatay.

'Dinner ka na?' Tatay ask

'Yes Tay, I already did. Can I go up my room now? I still need to fix some of my notes for tomorrow' paalam ni Maine

'Sure iha, you should take a rest now' nanay said

Maine kissed her parents' cheeks once more 'goodnight nay, tay.' And went upstairs.

In her room. She plop herself on the bed spread like eagle and stare at the ceiling thinking about Mr. Cute guy...'grabe ka...ang gwapo mo sa malayo pero mas gwapo ka pa pala sa malapitan'...remembering today's encounter..'I can't help but stare...your eyes, your lips and that deep dimple..I want to touch your face...you're so close yet so far... 'pero puppy?!? real name mo ba yun?' She rubs her chin...'Weird nga'...'but you're still my Mr. Cute...mas bagay sa 'yo kesa puppy'' she sighs. She fell asleep thinking about her Mr. Cute guy...
