ten—
the drive to jimin's house was short, being that jungkook knew where it was and had a few shortcuts. at most it was a minute long and the two were parked out front before they knew it.
"this is it right?" jungkook asked nervously as he pulled up to the small condo jimin had left days ago. he was worried that he had stopped outside the wrong place.
"yeah... this is it." jimin confirmed for him. he looked outside and stared at the building.
it looked like a sad and dull place the moment he laid his eyes on it. it looked lonely and abandoned. jungkook even thought it looked pretty sad and gray despite the green grass out front. jimin frowned. of course he knew why though.
jimin noticed hoseok's car was gone for the most part and the place was very quiet. in fact the whole street was quiet. so far it seemed like no one was here. jungkook got out of the car first, glancing back at jimin.
"i can go in and get your things if you want. you don't have to go inside." he told him. jimin shook his head with a roll of his eyes.
"i'm not scared to go in, i just don't want anyone to be here. plus, you don't know where any of my stuff is so i have to," jimin scoffed. jungkook smiled and opened jimins door.
"then let's go in, shall we?" jimin stared at him. jungkook was being way too nice to him. people can't be that nice can they? he breathed a sigh and got out. jungkook pushed his door closed behind him.
"okay."
jimin and jungkook pushed open the door, stepping through the entrance and into jimin's condo. there was a little bit of dust here and there, otherwise it looked like someone still lived there. just there was no one inside.
jimin grit his teeth. it had always been him who cleaned the house for hoseok.
as they walked farther into the house, jimin spotted an apple on the ground which looked like it was rotting. flies surrounding it and the one bite that had been taken out of it was a disgusting green-ish yellow. he remembered that it was the apple he dropped when hoseok came back that day. how long had it been sitting here? a weeks now?
so jimin knelt down to it and flicked his wrist to shoo the flies away. he gently lifted the apple up and went to throw it away. he tossed it into the trashcan and clapped his hands together with a sigh.
"i see he doesn't clean, like always," jimin muttered. jungkook smiled faintly at him as he continued to look around.
"lucky you're here now then." he said, attempting to lighten the mood. jimin just gave him a small smile back, not really trying to be lighthearted.
"yeah, i guess so."
the two scoured the house, looking for any major changes like broken objects or things thrown everywhere. but they found no changes, which was surprising to jimin.
jimin ambled back to his bedroom and opened the door peering through. he made a face of disgust when he saw the ruffled covers of his bed. hoseok must have done the despicable, in their own bed.
he slammed the door open and began grabbing his things. jungkook watched him from the doorway, sympathy shining in his eyes. he wanted to help his new friend, but he feared that he would only make it worse. after all he had just met him, he didn't understand him that well just yet. he was only able to just try.
jimin scrambled around with a bag filled with clothes in his hands. he grabbed a few more things before shoving past jungkook and to the living room again. jungkook followed behind him in silence, too afraid to say anything that could console him.
jimin was angry. who knew hoseok had the audacity to do something like that. he thought he might have at least felt guilty, but jimin thought wrong. hoseok didn't care at all and probably never did. and jimin didn't care either. not anymore at least.
jimin stomped to the kitchen, grabbed a few more things and then began making his way towards the door again.
jungkook was still quietly following behind him until he decided to say something. he reached out and placed a hand on jimin's shoulder gently.
"jimin hyung..." jungkook murmured. "please calm down." jimin brushed jungkooks hand off of his shoulder and glared at him in anger.
"you want me to calm down? oh sure, i'll just let it go that he slept with someone in our bed." jimin laughed sarcastically. "of course you wouldn't know how that feels. you've probably been alone this whole time haven't you?"
jungkook jerked away from jimin immediately and stared at him, hurt now the only emotion in his big brown eyes. he understood that jimin was sad, at most angry, but he crossed the line with what he just said.
jimin realized what he had done all too quickly and turned away from the taller. he was sorry, but he was too frustrated to say it. so instead he left through the door, going to get in the car first.
minutes after jimin left ahead of the other, jungkook slowly walked up to the car and got inside. he ignored the stare jimin gave him while he drove back to his place.
jimin wanted to fix the relationship that he had just broken, but he didn't know how to right now.
