i don't know, i don't know

You might have thought that life with the Winchesters would always be perfect and happy. But it wasn't. Sam and Dean would get into occasional fights that would lead to one of the two storming out of the house. Dean's mood wasn't always happy, he would snap at Cas every now and then which would lead to a few arguments, but Cas tried not to fight back. He never wanted to fight back.

"WHY DON'T YOU EVER FIGHT BACK?!" Dean yelled.

Bobby and Sam were out of the house; Bobby was on a hunting trip and Sam was at the library as per usual.

"Dean, please-"

"WHY DO  YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE SO GODDAMN PERFECT! SAY SOMETHING! STAND UP FOR YOURSELF!" he moved forward a little bit. He looked almost scary.

Cas winced and backed up. He looked down away from Dean.

Dean's expression softened up. "Cas, I-"

"It's fine." Cas interrupted stiffly. "I'm going for a walk."

Cas left the house despite Dean's protests to talk it out. Bobby's place was perfect for just taking a little nature walk. It was a car junkyard that was surrounded by forest and field. Cas peered into all of the different cars before reaching the forest edge. He sat down on a fallen tree and took in a few deep breaths.

He should have known that dating Dean wouldn't be perfect one hundred percent of the time, but having a moment of fear towards the man he loved wasn't a nice feeling at all. He just needed a minute alone to think for a while.

He must have fallen asleep in that while that he was sitting and thinking, because suddenly Dean was crouching next to him, running his hand gently through Cas's hair. Cas smiled sleepily.

"Hey, angel." Dean smiled weakly.

"Hello, Dean." Cas moved forward a little to peck Dean on the lips. Dean slipped his hand behind Cas's neck to make the kiss a little bit longer.

"Sorry for yelling at you, Cas."

Cas shrugged. "It's okay. I just don't like to see you upset with me."

Dean looked like he was holding back tears. "I'm not upset with you, baby."

Cas's sleepy smile grew a little. "Good... Can we go to bed?"

Dean nodded and helped Cas up. They held each other's hands as they walked back to Bobby's house and got into bed.

That morning is when the news came.

The news that changed everything.

The news that completely ruined everyone's lives.

"Sam? The phone's for you." Bobby called.

Sam stood up from his homework to get the phone. He held it to his ear. "Hello?" there was silence as the voice on the other line talked for a while. Sam's face fell. "What? No... N-No... That's impossible." There was more silence before Sam abruptly hung up the phone and chucked it at a wall.
