The Beginning of the End

Realization

We drive past corpses and piles of what I can only assume as guts. We all stay silent as we travel down the road, then we see a family standing on the side of the road. Dad pulls over and picks Them up.

"Names" dad says.

"Brian, Victoria and Gloria" says the boy around my age.

Dad starts driving the packed car down the empty road once again. About an hour later we enter a town called Wilderness Park. We drive down the dirt road to a log cabin and dad pulls into the driveway and parks the car.

"Welp were here, get your stuff inside" dad comands.

Everyone grabs there stuff and slowly walks inside. I walk to my room upstairs and Janie follows.

"Mind if i share a room with you?" Janie asks.

"Not at all make yourself at home" I reply.

"I havent been here in so long" says Janie.

I ignore her and plop onto the bed, i stare at the ceiling and sigh.

"You ok?" Janie asks.

"What do u think?" I ask shaking my head.

She huffs and walks out, I hear her footsteps go downstairs then become faint, a couple more seconds after it goes silent i notice my ears are still ringing and I notice the blood seeping through my shirt onto the bed. I panic and sit up I lift up my shirt just enough to see the wound and a tear rolls down my cheek when I see the deep gash on my side, gushing blood. I stare at it and start trembling, it didnt start hurting till I noticed all of the blood. Was this from the explosion? Was it from when me and james fell?  I get up and limp downstairs leaving droplets of blood behind, I step into the kitchen and everyone goes silent.

"OMG ALLISON WHAT HAPPENED!?!?" Asks Alyssa.

"SISSY R U OK!?!" Asks Carl.

"Lets go clean that up" says Lise grabbing my hand and leading me into the bathroom.

She sits me down on the toilet and she grabs the med kit, she opens it up and grabs what she needs, Then she starts cleaning my side.

"What happend Alli?" She asks.

I shrug and avoid looking down at her or my side, instead I start picking the black nail polish off of my nails.

"Alli" she growls.

"I honestly dont know ok just...just fix me"I explain.

She sighs and nods, a few minutes later she finishes bandaging me up then we stand up and we walk out to the kitchen and everyone stares at us in silence.

"You okay?"asks janie.

I nod and sit on a wooden stool. We all sit in silence for about ten minutes when we hear scratches at the door and moaning and growling. My dad stands up and slowly walks toward the door, he opens it and we stare at a bloody woman in a ripped pink dress with one high heel on.

"Carl dont look" dad says.

Janie covers carls eyes and i close one of my eyes. Dad opens the door and he stabs the girl.

"Dad what are you doing?!?" I ask.

"She was one of them, I had to" he explains.

He grabs the girl and walks her into the woods, the once again it goes silent. All of a sudden we hear screams coming from the woods where dad had just gone.
