*Lacey's POV*
I don't even remember what was so funny? Even though it was only said ten seconds ago. What I do remember is the burning sensation of liqueur travelling down my throat and hitting the pit of my stomach. It felt good.
The room around me glows and my vision begins to blur, I am handed a glass of what I believe to be white wine. I am ridiculously intoxicated, bloody hell Sophia what have you got me into? I stare at the wine in the glass, waiting for everything to come into focus. Five seconds and still nothing. Screw it! I put the large glass to my lips and tilt my head back, downing the entire glass of the golden fizzy liquid in one and feeling that same familiar burn.
"Gracie?" I can hear from somewhere in the distance, but where I don't know? Again, "Gracie.....Gracie can you hear me?"
I feel a hand grip onto my elbow and another sitting on my waistline.
"Whoa, slow down dude," I slur, "at least buy me dinner first," I giggle.
I turn around his face a blurry image in my vision, as he moves his hand from my elbow to take the wine glass out of my hand and place it on a nearby table. I stumble, almost falling straight onto my face but I feel strong hands grip my waist saving me just in time, "didn't you hear me?!" I half slur half yell, "leave me alone, I don't need you."
I feel the grip tighten, "you don't need me, huh?" He says into my ear.
I straighten my posture, and with both hands I yank the hands that are clamped around my waist off. I make my way into the house, looking for the busiest room I can find; the living room. I can tell I'm being followed.
I go up to the big oak dining table and hoist myself up onto one of the chairs before fully standing slightly tipping over to the side in my high heels.
"Excuse me everyone!" I shout at the top of my lungs, "I have something I'd like to tell you all."
The room falls silent; the music is turned off and conversations paused. I notice Noah I think, practically running into the living room through the patio doors, pushing his way through the crowd to get to me who have now surrounded the table that I'm using as my own personal stage.
"Gracie, what the hell are you doing?" Noah asks through gritted teeth as he stands below me , "get down from up there," he says whilst offering me a hand.
I push it aside, the alcohol making me feel brave and bold "shush not now," I straighten myself up once again, "hello everyone I hope you're all having a wonderful time!" I drunkenly beam.
Noah looks around him, listening to the screams and shouts of pure happiness and delight. For a brief moment the room starts spinning and begins to turn dark, but I continue anyway.
"I'd like to share something with you," I drunkenly sway.
"Gracie, don't do this. You'll regret it," he pleads as he looks up at me with his big hazel eyes.
Ignoring him I continue, "I; Gracie Smith am a big fat liar," I giggle covering my mouth with big of my hands when I hear the disgusting sound escape between my lips, "I'm not who I say I am I'm-"
I'm cut off mid sentence when Noah lurches forward and grabs my calfs throwing me over his shoulder.
"Sorry!" He shouts, "she's had a little too much tonight."
My head spins as I'm carried out past the room full of people, I get this high pitched ringing in my ears as we approach what I believe to be his car.
My vision fades out.
Darkness takes over.
*Noah's POV*
I can hear her laugh from the kitchen over the loud conversations and the booming music; it's such a beautiful sound. She calls it ugly I call it straight up adorable.
