These days, I'm not afraid of what I'll see when I open my eyes in the shower.
At night, after turning off the lights, I don't run to my room anymore .
Inside my room, I leave my door unlock and the windows unshut.
In bed, I keep my eyes wide open and stare at places I'm too afraid to look at before,
The windows ,
The corners of my room,
The underside of the table,
The shadows near my closet.
When I get up to drink, I don't turn on the lights.
I enjoy the darkness now.
I walk slowly, in hopes of a haunting.
I keep searching for shadows.
Keeps listening for something.
Because this darkness, that used to scare me infinitely,
Have now become empty spaces where you could be.
