"Why can't you just jump?" He asked.
"I don't know how to swim." She answered.
"It's fine. Just jump, I'm here." He assured her.
But the water was deeper than they thought it would be.
After swimming for too long, despite holding each other, the cold creeps in.
The sun that used to bathe them with warmth, now only burns their skin.
When his limbs finally got tired, trying to keep both of them afloat, they started pushing and pulling each other down.
Barely breaking the surface for air before they sink again.
Somewhere along the way, it didn't matter anymore who makes it to shore alive.
It eventually turned to a vicious cycle of trying to see who can make each other drown.
