Chapter 13: Classes and Mystery calls
-Arlo's POV-
JC and I had most classes together which was amazing. Today I only had three classes, but they were long. Pouty face. I had basic math first, since I'm stupid I didn't get most of the shit that was on the paper he handed out. The last class I had was performing. I don't know why I have performing-wait, yes I do.
I'm a performer. Duh. "Ready to go to performing?" JC asked as we walked down the crowded hall and out the door. "Actually, I am." I smiled brightly. He looked down at me smiling also. "Really?" He asked, his smile radiant. "No." My face fell into a neutral look, my lips a flat line. "Too bad, you have to." He bumped his shoulder with mind, well he tried to at least. It was more like his shoulder hitting my neck. "Come on, we're almost there." He grabbed my wrist and started pulling me forward. What, do my legs not work now?
'Welcome to Performing' said the sign on the big black double doors. "It should say welcome to hell." I dryly to JC as we walked up to the door. "I'm sure performing won't be that bad." He tried reassuring me. "School makes me depressed." I muttered as he pushed the doors open. I walked forward and he followed behind me.
A bunch students were already in here. The room was like a mini auditorium. There was a small wooden stage with black curtains on each end. There were ten rows of red velvet seats, the floor was plush black carpet. "Ooh, fancy." I said as we walked further into the room. JC and I sat in the middle row of seats just like back in senior year. "Hey, you're the kid that dropped his phone." An overly excited voice came from behind me. I turned around and so did JC. That girl I met in the hallway, Natalie, was sitting behind me. "Oh yeah, I remember you. Hi." I gave her a small smile. School made me boring also. "Hi, I'm JC." My boyfriend introduced himself to Natalie and they shook hands after she old him her name. "Yo Nat," A boy started walking up to her. He wasn't that bad looking. He had dark brown hair and green eyes. "Josh," She smiled lovingly and he at next to her. "Hey, I'm Josh, Natalie's boyfriend." He said to us as he noticed we were looking at them. "I'm Arlo, and this is..." I trailed off wondering what exactly I should say to them about JC and I. "This is JC. My boyfriend." I said slowly, but confidently. "You're gay." Natalie smiled and sideways glanced at Josh. "That's cool," he shrugged and I nodded. "You don't have a problem wit that?" JC curiously looked at both of them. They seemed pretty chill about that. Perfect. I didn't feel like liking another persons ass again. I don't think I'd do much but yell at Natalie. I might be a homosexual but I'm a still a guy, and hitting a girl is wrong. "Yeah, my moms didn't raise me to judge people." Josh replied looking at us like all of this was normal. I'm no so sure that this was a normal conversation. "Moms?" I rose an eyebrow in curiosity. Why didn't my parents name me something like Curiosity instead of Arlo. What.The.Fuck did "Arlo" mean in the first place. I swear my parents were drunk and on crack while naming me. Them stupid ass bastards. "I have two moms, they're... Uh..." He looked uncomfortable so I cut him off.
"We get it."
"Cool."
The teacher walked in at that moments
All of the students were now here, the teacher took a seat on the stage sitting crissed-crossed. She had messy black hair and brown eyes. She wore dark jeans and a red blouse. What? I know fashion. "Hello my young patawons." She said loudly, her voice as sweet as honey when she spook. A couple kids snickered and others looked unfazed. I was the "others". Aren't I always? I don't have a heart. No, I'm joking, I have a heart and it's only for JC. Everyone else can suck it.
"I am Miss Heath and I will obviously be your teacher." She smiled as her eyes scanned the crowd of students. "Since today is the first day of school we won't be doing much. You will be in a group of four, you will all be doing mirror exercises. All of you should know what that means. After that we will get to know each other." She said then yelled begin. "Would you like to be with us?" I asked Natalie and Josh. "Fuck yes, I was waiting forever for you to say that." Natalie exclaimed and hurriedly got up from her seat. We all walked toward a corner in the room and began doing the same thing as each other. "So how long have you two been dating?" JC asked trying to start a conversation. "Two years now," Josh answered and Natalie nodded. "What about you two?" She asked. "Almost a year now, we started dating at the end of senior year." I answered smiling, that year was the best and the worst.
"So tell us about yourselves." Natalie said. We all moved our right feet to the center of our circle and out our hand on our head. "Well, I'll tell you about Arlo since he'll just probably say he's nice and sweet," JC smirked and I glared at him. Damn he knew me all to well. I blame the system. I BLAME THE SYSTEM! "He's a crazy bitch." He shook his head. "No I'm not!" I protested though I knew it was true. "Of you go on YouTube and look up "sassy gay friend" the guy always says something about being a stupid bitch. That's Arlo." He said then looked at me with innocent eyes. "You're a stupid bitch." He said in the voice if the guy from the videos. "But he is sweet in some ways. He's nice-wait, no. Forget I said that. He's not nice. But he's amazing, and I love him." JC said looking down with a small smile playing on his lips. Aw, how sweet. "JC, I think you have me confused with Ferny. He's mean. He's so mean that mean doesn't even begin to describe him. HE is a crazy bitch." I told him pointedly and he nodded with a thoughtful look on his face.
"Ferny?" Josh looked lost. Oh poor Joshy. Poor lost Joshy. "His name is Fernando. He's our friend." I told him and he nodded. "Actually, I don't think he likes me all that much." JC frowned and I nodded. "Yeah, he pretty much strongly dislikes you." I truthfully answered him. "Oh, and unless you like your teeth being shoved into your brain then don't call him Ferny." I warned Natalie and Josh. "Tell us about yourselves." I told them now. I knew JC didn't say anything yet, but he wasn't important so it's ok.
"Natalie is a psycho." Josh said seriously and I giggled at Natalie's reaction. She scoffed and slapped him upside the head. "Natalie please don't abuse the merchandise." Miss Heath said as she walked past us. "How did she know my name?" Natalie looked freaked. Josh, JC, and I put on the same evil smirk. "Because she's a stupid bitch." We said in sync sounding as gay as possible.
JC and I got along with Natalie and Josh pretty well. "I'm going to go do something ok?" I told JC as I slung my backpack over my shoulder. "Yeah sure, I'll be in our room." He told me and kissed my cheek. I grinned and smiled before walking out of the room.
I started to explore the campus, just walking around in the blistering hot sun. Stupid Florida. I rolled my eyes and walked into the nearest building next to me to find a water fountain.
I found one after turning down two hallways. It was like the water fountains back in high school but didn't look disgustingly filthy. I bent down and started drinking the water that was surprisingly cold. The air conditioning in here was nice also.
I heard faint music coming down one if the hallways. I wonder what's going on. I followed the sound. It led me down a long hallway until I reached a dead end where two big wooden doors were. I peeked through the window, my eyes widening. I grabbed my cell phone from my pocket quickly and dialed the number. "Hello?" He answered.
"Oh thank pickles you picked up."
"What do you need?
"I need you over here right now."
"What happened? What's wrong?" His voice was worried.
"Nothing I'm fine, but I need you to come into building 4 room 304. Then walk inside." I told him and hung up.
