Part 9

Diggie's POV
I'm sitting with Maddie's family and the game was going good right up until someone from another team hits Maddie and we see her go down. We all thought she was going to be ok but she hasn't gotten up yet. We get up and run to her, when we got there she was unconscious. Maddie's mom called an ambulance and I'm just kneeling beside her holding her hand while waiting for the ambulance. They finally came and they lifted her onto the stretcher and Maddie's dad told me I can go with her, I'm glad he's finally starting to like me. Turns out the person who hurt Maddie will be suspended for half the season. End of POV
Maddie's POV
I must have been out for a while because I finally opened my eyes and I see a ceiling. I look around and I see my family and Diggie asleep, I felt pain in my ribs and I guess I must have woken up everyone because their eyes opened and once they saw me they raced over to me. They were asking me a few questions until the pain in my shoulder hit me. I'll get a doctor, says Joey and then he left. Diggie kisses me on the forehead and he has a worried look on his face. What happened to me? I ask. Another player from the other team hit you pretty hard and knocked you out for a few hours. Dad replied looking at me. Then the doctor came in and did some tests to see if there was anything really wrong. It looks like you bruised your ribs and you dislocated your shoulder so we're going to have to put it back into place but I'm telling you now that it will hurt. I sigh and look down and nod then Diggie picks up my hand and holds it. The doctor puts my shoulder back into place and I screamed in pain and cried, I gave Diggie a hug then cried into his chest. You can go home as soon as someone fills out your release forms, then the doctor leaves. Then my mom filled it out, then we left but Liv and Diggie were helping me because of my ribs and Liv was also being really supportive. I get home and decided to go to bed because I'm not hungry and don't feel like moving a lot. End of POV
