"Hour by hour, day by day

Your memory will fade away

Every sunrise, every sunset

Will help me forget your name,

Your smile, your eyes

              *Aubrey's P.O.V*

My fingers layed on my small bump as I stared outside the window. Adults and children walking around wearing their warm jackets and fury boots. School ended a few days ago because of winterbreak. If you're asking how I know it's because of Mila. Mila is my 15 year old best friend that lives right across from this apartment. When I moved into my apartment, she was very welcoming. Next thing you know, we became bestfriends. She also knows I'm having a child.  After I found out I'm having a child, she knocked on my door because she heard my saddening cries. Once I let her in I fell into her arms and told her everything from the start. She was the 1st to tell me that everything happens for a good reason. I'm still laughing at that because I'm having a difficult time believing in that. But Mila…she is one wise 15 year old. Maybe she's right……maybe.

Today, I'm going with Holland, Crystal, Tyler, and Daniel to Green Thumb to buy a christmas tree! All of this excitement makes me want to jump up and down like a little child but I can't since I'm pregnant. Not good for the baby. I grabbed my mittens and sweater as I left the apartment.

Walking down towards the elevator, Mrs. Greenville, Mila's mother stared me down. I kept on walking ignoring her stare but stopped when she spoke.

"Leave my daughter alone Aubrey!" If looks could kill, I'd be dead. "She doesn't need to be reminded of how teens make poor decisions. Don't be a role model for Mila. Just don't. I know how much of a friend you are to her just to leave her alone after this. -"

My face turned red with furry and took a deep breath before saying, "You are not her. You are just her step mother that treats her like shit. And Mila is not my friend. She's my sister and we know damn well that she stays at my place most days of the week because of your addiction of drinking! Mila doesn't that in her life. Good day." With that the elevator opened and closed after I walked in.

I sighed and a tear left my eye knowing a piece of what she said was true. I made a poor decision having unprotected sex. Look at me now, 3 months pregnant, mother doesn't support, the baby daddy doesn't know & broke up with me, and I'm living alone. Everything is fantastic! Note my sarcasm. All I'm living off of is "Everything happens for a reason".

I wipped the tear from my cheek and walked fastly out of the building.

The December cold breeze hit my face walking out. Eleven-fourty in the morning and I could already tell people are pumped up to buy christmas presents, ornaments, and decorations. This year I'm spending Christmas eve with the gang! My job is to make Christmas cookies and to buy everyone presents. Especially Tyler's present. Since I pulled out his name from a Santa hat for Secret Santa, the gift has to be perfect. Not sure what I'm going to give him but I need to think quick since Christmas eve is in two weeks. Better start shopping now!
