Thirty One

Jeonghans Pov

After we eat dinner everyone gets ready for bed. Seungcheol is in the shower and Minghao is in his room. I should go check on him about what happened. I lightly knock on his door and then walk in. He's sitting on his bed reading a book. I go over and lay next to him. He moves his head onto my chest.

" What are you reading?" I ask

" My Korean language book. Just trying to learn some new words" he says

" Wanna tell me what happened?" I ask

" Just some bullies" he says

" You let me know if they bother you and I'll bring your dad and your uncle Josh up there to kick their ass" I say

" Dad said the same thing" he says

" Don't let them get to you. Me, your dad, uncle Josh, and the boys are all here for you" I say as he nods

I get up and tuck him in. I wouldn't replace him for the world.

" Good night baby" I say pushing his hair back

" Night Eomma" he says closing his eyes

I head to our room and see Seungcheol laying on the bed. He's reading a Chinese language book. Him and Minghao are so alike. I get in next to him and he puts his arm around me.

" How's he doing?" He asks

" He seemed a tiny bit upset but he's fine" I say

" They told him he's going to hell with his fag parents." He says

" I knew something like this would happen" I say

" He's a smart kid but I just hope he doesn't let this get to him" he says

" I guess this is where all the negative things start to happen" I say

" We'll get through this together" he says

He closes his book and turns off the light. I grab his chin and turn his face towards me. He leans in and gives me a quick kiss.

" Good night baby" he says

" Goodnight babe" I say

Minghao's Pov

I sit at the back of the lunch room with Vernon. I'm so lucky he goes to school with me. Jun goes here too but he's afraid to say anything to the bullies. When I'm near Vernon they don't bother me.

" I have to go talk to my teacher. You good here?" He asks

" Yeah I'll just go to the bathroom" I say

" I'll be back" he says leaving

I get up and head to the bathroom to wash my hands. I turn the sink on and scrub my hands. I hear the door open and turn my head. My heart drops as my bullies Dongho and Jongmin walk in. They drop their bags and smile as they walk over to me.

" What do you want?" I ask

" Oh nothing. Just here to teach you what happens to fags like you" Dongho says

" Leave me alone" I say

" Oh no don't worry, we'll make it quick" Jongmin says

They push me to the ground and start to kick and punch me. It's like all of the martial arts I leaned just disappeared from my brain. I'm so in shock that I can't do anything but lay there and get beat up.

Jongmin stands me up and pins me down against the wall. He holds my hands so I can't do anything as Dongmin punches me everywhere. The door opens again and in walks Vernon and Jun.

Vernon jumps on Dongmins back and chokes him from behind. Jun kicks Jongmin in the shin making him let go of me. I lay on the ground in pain as they beat them up.

I've never seen Jun punch so hard. He looks so mad it reminds me of the hulk. He gives one last punch and Jongmin runs out the bathroom. Vernon head butts Dongmin and he runs out too.

" They got you good" Jun says handing me tissue

" But we got em better" Vernon says

Then I just burst out crying. Why does this have to be so hard. If it wasn't for Vernon and Jun, who knows what condition I would be in. I know I have a black eye. He punched me really hard. I spit out blood into the tissue as Jun hands me more tissue.

" Eommas gonna flip" Vernon says

They help me stand up so I can look at myself in the mirror. I have a black eye and a few bruises on my face. My lip is cut too. It's too obvious. Everyone's gonna know I got beat up.

" I can't perform like this" I sniff

I fall back to the ground and cry in Vernons arms. He holds me close and tries to calm me down.

" I'm so sorry bro" he apologizes

" Put your sunglasses on and wear my hoodie" Jun says

I grab my sunglasses out of my bag and put Juns hoodie on. I put the hood on to cover my face more. The bell rings signaling that school is over.

" We'll walk you home" Jun says

We stand up and walk outside. As we turn the corner Dongho and Jongmin stand right there. Vernon and Jun got them good.

" You're lucky your brothers came to your rescue" Jongmin says

" Next time we'll lock the door" Dongho says

" Watch your back" Jongmin says

" Actually you watch your back. You got three Devils coming after you tomorrow" Vernon says

" Tomorrow is gonna be hell. For you of course" Jun says

We walk away without hearing their response. We reach my house and my stomach drops. Eomma will probably cry and Appa will be really angry. Then they'll call uncle Josh and set up a plan. I sigh and walk through the door. They're sitting on the couch and they turn to look at me. I take the glasses and the hood off and they're eyes go wide.

" ...Son, w-what happened?" Appa says
