Chapter 11

Janet

I felt something go down my throat as my eyes shot open. I began to throw up as someone rubbed my back.

"Come on Janet get all of it out of you." Kenny said.

I turned my head to see Kenny kneeling beside me with tears running down his face. His eyes were red and puffy. I looked around the bathroom floor to see all my prescription bottles empty.

"The paramedics are on the way." Kenny whispered.

I flushed the toilet and wiped my mouth. Kenny reached for me but I pulled away.

"Janet don't you ever scare me like that again!" Kenny yelled.

I just sat on the floor staring at the wall.

"Janet baby do you hear me?" Kenny asked.

"Yes! Now leave me the fuck alone!"

Kenny looked at me in disbelief.

"No I'm not going leave you alone!" Kenny yelled.

I tried to get up and walk out of the bathroom but Kenny blocked the doorway.

"And neither are you! You're going to be admitted into the hospital to get some help." Kenny spoke.

"I don't need it I'm fine. Please baby don't send me back to the psych ward I promise I'll do better."

"J listen you need their help. I watched over you day and night when I found out you were cutting yourself. But baby you really went over the deep end today. I can't help you baby you need them." Kenny hugged me.

I balled up my fist and hit Kenny in his balls and ran. I sprinted for the front door but saw the ambulance pull up. I quickly headed for the patio door but a strong grasp tightened around me.

"Baby please don't put up anymore fights and go peacefully." Kenny whispered in my ear.

"Damn it Kenny! Please I promise I'll never do it again!"

KNOCK! KNOCK! Paramedics!

"Come in!" Kenny yelled.

"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

"Ma'am please just come with us. We won't hurt you." The medic replied.

"Fuck you!"

"Janet watch your mouth!" Kenny said tightening his grip.

"Boys come in!" The medic yelled.

Two big and tall guys walked into the kitchen. One restrained my arms the other my legs then they strapped me to a gurney.

"Kenny I fucking hate you! I hope you die and go straight to hell!"

Kenny just looked at me with tears in his eyes as I shouted at him.

Kenny

"I had her admitted back to the hospital."

"Ken I'm so sorry." Toni replied.

"Yeah me too. Next week after all her test have been done I want you to go see her."

"When are you going?" Toni asked.

"I'm not."

"Kenny you have to! You don't know what's wrong with her!" Toni yelled.

"I do know what's wrong with her. She's suicidal and schizophrenic. She's been for about 2 years now."

"What?" Toni questioned.

"She didn't want me to tell you. She promised she would do right. Take her medicine, go to therapy and everything but she suddenly stopped. She going back down the same road as last time. But this time I won't wait until I'm cut or stabbed by her to get her help."

Toni's eyes grew big as she touched my shoulder running her hands across a scar.

"So what happens now?" Toni asked with tears in our eyes 

"We live our lives, like we always have."

One Week Later

Toni

I looked at Janet in the psych ward with all the other patients. She was in a daze but she looked so peaceful.

"She's very nice and smart." A nurse said to me.

"Yeah she is. I'm Toni."

"Well nice to finally meet you! Janet talks about you all the time." Another nurse replied.

"Can I go see her?"

"Sure." The nurse smiled.

I nervously walked into the room making sure to watch my steps.

"Janet. Hi it's me Toni."

"Hey." Janet replies depressingly.

"Bentley misses you. He's always asking for his J."

"Tell him I miss him too." Janet sighs.

"When you get out we should take a vacation. Go somewhere relaxing."

Janet sighs and goes quiet before speaking again.

"Okay, okay I'll tell her!" Janet starts yelling.

I look around oddly trying to figure out whose she's talking to.

"Danny says he loves you and misses you and Bentley." Janet replies.

My eyes get wide and my breathing increases.

"Wh whatttt?"

"Danny I told you she would act this way." Janet says.

I look around frightened by this episode Janet is going through. I become invisible to Janet as she continues to have a full convo with herself. I quickly get up running out.

"Ms. Toni! Ms. Toni!" The nurses yell.

I run out the hospital get into my car and drive off barely missing a man in a wheelchair.

At Toni's House

"I'm sorry you had to witness that baby." Kenny hugged me tightly.

"That scared the hell out of me Ken. Can you stay over tonight?"

"Sure baby." Kenny pecked my lips.

Kenny

"You've been messing with my woman for all these years, get her pregnant then leaves me for dead. I got something for your unloyal ass!" Danny says cranking up a chainsaw.

"Danny I'm so sorry!"

"Man we're blood how could you do this to me!"

Danny begins to cut through my left leg and right leg.

"Ahhhhh!"

I wake up in cold sweats. I look over to see Toni sleeping. I get up and go to the bathroom and run water over my face. I open my eyes to see Danny staring back at me in the mirror. I quickly turn around to see no one.

"It's just a dream Kenny pull yourself together."

I looked at the baby monitor to see Bentley sleeping peacefully. I got in the bed and snuggled up to Toni.
