The Hidden Forest

I pulled my hand back in the kayak and smiled at my friend Linzy. "We should head back home." I suggested. Linzy slowly shook her head, no.

"My parents will be worried." I said trying to avoid eye contact. I put my hand back into the water and watched how it sparkled. "How fast do you think I can go?!" Linzy shouted with excitement. I brought my hand back into the kayak as I thought about her going fast.

Now that was a bad idea. Linzy was always like this. She wanted to do wild things and take risks. Me on the other hand likes to chill and relax.

I just gave her a warning look and earned look from her that said watch me. She grabbed the ore and started paddling fast. I grabbed the sides of the kayak and shut my eyes tight.

The kayak started to tip to the side and I started screaming. The kayak went back into place and I could see Linzy laughing her head off.

"Your such a wiss!"

I guess now that Linzy has said that I can tell you about me.

My name is Nicole. Im 19. I have tanned skin, long blonde curly hair and blue eyes. Now Linzy was the complete opposite of me.

She was 19. She has porcelain skin, straight black hair and golden eyes. We didn't look the same but everything we liked was the same.

We both loved to go in the kayak. We both loved soccer. We both loved chocolate. We both loved being outside. We both loved each other (as friends xD )

I shot her a frustrated look and she began paddling us home when I heard a loud strike. I turned my head around and I saw lighting and black clouds going over us.

We both looked at my house and saw how far it was. I pointed to a close island to our left. She turned the kayak by using the paddle to turn it the other way.

We reached the island and I pulled out a rope I kept in the kayak. We tied the rope to a tree branch not worried if it was tight or not. We tied the other end onto the kayak and climbed out.

I looked into the dark island and immediately wanted to go back. Linzy saw the expression on my face and grabbed my hand. She pulled me deeper into the island.

I looked around at all the trees. They were almost black and had no leaves on them. I looked at Linzy with a desperate expression.

"Please can we just go to a different place I mean it-" before I could finish what I was saying we both heard a loud bang. I realised it was the lighting and she gave me a look that said "ya right"

Time soon passed and we were heading back to where we left the kayak.
"We aren't leaving!" Linzy shouted. She kept telling me that if we left we would get struck by lightening.

My jaw dropped when I looked at where the kayak was "you got that right" I breathed.
