Play I believe by Christina perri
"You never were" I whispered again. "I'm here" I remembered her voice again. "No your not" I screamed.
"Your not here for me now!"
I stood up slowly and looked around "I give up" "I'm done"
"I have no one" I screamed. I believed every word. I was alone and had no one. I only had Linzy. Barely anyway. I missed her even though she was in my mind twenty four seven. She would be happy now. She loved helping people. She always did. She is probably trying to help me.
But to me I think she's failing. I'm a mess that no one can fix. It's impossible. I'm just a pile of nothing. I'm like the last flower in a garden that is rotting. No one would pick me.
"I would" Linzy appeared in front of me again. "Because I know who you really are"
"This isn't you nic.. because the real you wouldn't be saying that now. She would get off her ass and find her best friend........who's kinda missing her right now"
"But I can't-" I stuttered "yes you can!" She interrupted me. "And I'm waiting for my bet friend to wake up and do what is best" "because my best friend is awesome"
She disappeared and I realised I was staring into a wall. "I'm awesome"
"I can do it"
I ran to the water and jumped in. I swam under the small rock that lead to the river and began swimming up. "Don't go home" "not without me" I heard Linzy whisper to me. I got to the surface and gasped for breath.
Swimming to the other island, I clutched the necklace tightly in my hand.
Once I reached the island I got up with my soaked clothes and bloody cheeky and made my way to a big tree. I sighed and sat down with my back against the tree.
"Get up" I heard Linzy's whisper. I groaned and held the tree for support when I got up. Linzy was the main thing on my mind. She was trying to help me and actually doing an excellent job. I wasn't upset anymore but instead excited for the journey ahead. I had so much to discover. And so did Linzy, even if she wasn't alive. She was still with me. She still communicated with me. She was still my best friend.
I tied the necklace around my neck and walked slowly through the forest. My feet crunching sticks, my hands running through my soaked hair and my stomach flipping with every step I took.
My curly hair stuck onto the sides of my face, my eyes were probably red and I was sertain I had dark black circles under my eyes.
Linzy appeared again.
"Find me" she said stretching the words out "I-Im trying-"
"Try harder" she whispered making her voice echo. Then she was gone and I was standing face to face with another girl.
