The Hidden Forest

Chapter 5

At that moment something flashed through me. I no longer saw Linzy's dead body but a brand new one standing in front of me. We were alone, nothing was around us. It was complete black. "I'm with you" she whispered, her voice echoing through the endless room. "I'm right here"

Then I was snapped back into reality. I looked down at Linzy. "I'm sorry" I whispered. I watched my tears fall onto her face and down her check. Then I realised...I had to do something. I had to find out what had happened.

"That's it!" I screamed "get out of this house you fucking demon!"

I ran to the bedroom where the father was hanging and ran behind him. I slammed open the cupboard and pulled out the silver safe, slamming it on the floor. As I was about to bend down I saw something. There was something in the cupboard. I grabbed the journal and sat down on the floor. I slowly opened the diary, to see neat hand writing going down the page.

Mom has Been acting weird every since daddy died. I've been trying to talk to her but she wouldn't listen and only shouted more.

I turned my head toward the other page.

Albert went missing today and I saw mommy at noon. I've never been in the study ever since daddy died and mommy locked the doors. I'm writing this in the basement on my desk and I'm waiting and waiting to find out more.

"GET OUT!" An old lady's screams echoed through the house.

I quickly skipped a few pages until I realised the others had been ripped out. I turned back once and read the last page.

I've found out that mom had taken Albert. He told me when I slept the night he got taken. He said mom had burned him. I've found out the secrets mom had kept from us. I know what to do. If your reading this listen close. You need to.....

The pen had ripped through the page as if someone had pulled the person away. I jumped up and put the diary back when a necklace fell out of it. I grabbed it off the floor and shoved it in my pocket.

"You took my friend from me!" I screamed at the dead body hanging from the ceiling "why didn't you stop your wife!"

"Get out!" The old lady screamed again. "Why!" I shouted. The door slammed shut and the man's head snapped toward me "because I said so" he said in a demon voice. I backed away until I hit the wall.

Then it happened again. I wasn't in the room. I was with Linzy. "Run" her voice echoed. Then I was pulled away and Linzy was going further and further away from me. "Run" her voice echoes again. "No!  Linzy!" this time my voice echoed as I watched her figure disappear.

I ran to the door,swinging it open and running out. I ran down the stairs and to the front door. I wonder if my parents are looking for me. Or just gave up.

They were both kind and were my whole world. Linzy and I didn't intend to get stuck in this mess. We were only going for a kayak ride and we ended up on a island in a paranormal house. And there was no more we. Just me and my stupid little self.

Everything was black again and Linzy appeared "come find me" she whispered. Every time she talked it would echo as if this room or hall has been endless. "But I-I.....d-dont. I-I do-dont" I stuttered, tears fighting their way out of my eyes. It was if she depended on me. She needed me to help her. And I couldn't do anything.

"Help me Nicole" her voice was going creepy and her words stretched out.
