I've kept a good and close eye on Nocturna ever since that incident at the café. "Cyra" seems to have everybody under her power. Nobody seems to be seeing through her her charade. Even the Headmistress seems to be clueless as to "Cyra's" real identity. Now I sit on a small bench near the lake with Chloe and Lydia, watching the Water Elementals goof off in the water with their power over liquids.
I spot Eirlys, or Edge for short, playing what looks like "Keep Away" with a few of the other Water Elemental girls. I sigh and watch the Waters rule the lake. Suddenly, a shadow looms over us, blocking out the hot sun, and making all three of us jump. Nocturna stands there with her arms crossed. Slowly, she circles to the front of the group. "Hello everybody," She says innocently.
"Go away..." Lydia grumbles, the look on her face torn between fear and annoyance.
Nocturna fakes a pouting look, sticking out her bottom lip. "Oh come now," She says, before her eyes grow hard. For a split second, her real, snake-like eyes show through the brown colored contacts she uses. I feel my face go slack, my arms go limp to my sides and I feel myself stand up. My legs lock, and my eyes are fixed on Nocturna's face. I try to turn my head, only to find out I have no control over my own body.
A feeling of dread courses through me as I remember the Evil Element of Blood. I'm Nocturna's puppet right now, and completely under her control. Oh joy, what a great feeling.
Nocturna crosses her arms. "We're all friends, right you three?"
Against my will, my head bobs up and down, and I hear my own voice drone: "Yes, Cyra." I hear two other voices doing the same, but no matter how hard I try, I can't move my eyes or head. I feel like a stone, just stuck in one place, heavy and helpless.
Nocturna nods, brushing some of her black hair from her face, although her normal twin pigtails are in. "And you, as my friends, would never give me away, right?"
Again, my own head bobs up and down, and my lips move on their own. "Right, Cyra."
Crap. She's got me trapped. Why didn't I remember this ability? She could have me drown myself in the lake right now if she wanted, and I'd be helpless to do or say anything else! Although Nocturna has me under her complete control on the outside, my thoughts still run wild in my head, as my heart pounds in my chest. A scream rises in my throat, but refuses to leave my lips.
"Good, good," Nocturna purrs. "And you all know that if you fail to keep any of these promises that you have just made to me, there will be punishments." She laughs, before continuing, looking me in the eyes. "What about you, Nicolette? If you or your friends give me away, you'll be punished severely by Linzey anyway. As long as you've known about me." She smirks, almost triumphantly. "You've covered for me. And you've set me free." She swings around, continuing.
"I want to think of you all of my friends. I do. And I'd prefer not harming you. But if you all insist on backstabbing me, I'll have to do something about it. I'll do what I must to make sure I'm not discovered." She looks at me, almost like a helpless little girl, her eyes wide, wet and downcast.
"All I want is to finish school here at Elements Academy. I mean, I don't have anywhere to go home to. If I'm to be discovered, I'll be killed like my parents, brother, and the others carrying the Evil Elements." She sniffles. "Everybody thinks I'll turn out like the others. Insane and heartless. But it seems like this is the only way you, or anybody else will listen to me."
I'm speechless, and I'm also actually beginning to feel sorry for Nocturna. She turns away, and wipes her eyes before casting a look back at us, then running at full speed to the dorms. My legs suddenly feel like jelly as I regain control over them, and I tumble foreward onto the ground.
And none of the Water Elementals even noticed.

Short chapter, I know. Mostly a filler.
I wanted to upload to show my followers that I'm not dead. XD
