Danny's POV:
I was furious. I wanted to crash into every car in my path. I wanted revenge on every rogue in that pack.
"Sir we need to survive the trip there-"
"Hunter shut your fucking mouth." I snapped, unable to control my anger, a growl underlying every word I spat out. He sat further back in his seat.
"Pass this asshole!" Dylan shouted, the wind carrying his voice as I rushed through the small gap between the semi coming toward us and the Honda in front of us. An hour ago we had gotten word that our pack had been attacked by the rogues again, they had cut back, sneaking back towards our territory all this week.
They made it there last night.
We found out just after returning to our human forms, so our only way to get home was to drive.
We tried calling, but there's been a storm running through the coast, and phone lines have been shit. We didn't have time to call over and over, we just needed to get home. We've been driving ninety all the way home, and our four hour drive was now almost over in less than an hour. Last message we got was from a member of our pack. They had sent out a distress signal through howls, and the message reached Rowan's pack right before morning. Howls aren't always precise though, it's like a game of telephone, and the messages can be hard to keep cohesive from pack to pack.
We know they were attacked. We know a male, and two females, one pregnant, were injured, and we know the children were threatened, but fine. They had hurt Frea, they had possibly hurt Cora, Winny, or Heather, Owen, Leon, Durst- we weren't sure. Durst had sent the call, he had changed to protect the kids, I'm certain, and I was glad he hadn't obeyed me this time. He had been the Delta we needed him to be. I was just furious with myself for leaving them vulnerable, for the sake of others. Rowan was now our ally, and will do what he can to help us, but in this instance it didn't help to have them on our side. It would have helped if I just stayed home. I keep making horrible decisions as an Alpha, it makes me question everything, it makes me question whether or not I deserve any of this; do I deserve this pack, do I deserve her?
"Watch out." Hunter warned, and I swerved around the car in front of us, and around the bend, up the hill towards our home. "It's okay you guys, no ones dea-"
"Shut up Hunter." Dylan said quickly, warning him. "You don't have a mate, or a child, you don't know how terrifying this feeling is-"
"My sister is-"
"It's not the same- when we find out what happened we'll relax." Dylan said, his voice dropping nervously. "They said someone was hurt pretty bad... It could be my mate. It could be your sister. We need to see what happened, and then we need to kill those fucking pigs." Dylan was growling now too, and Hunter was on our page now, his face hardened. We sped down the dirt road, up to our house, where from a distance the house looked just the same. Lit up just the same. Quiet just as normal from outside, but as I pulled to a stop I noticed the curtain flying out of the broke. window on the second floor, the marks in the grass on the field from claws, the blood splatters. I ran up to the front porch, the others rushing behind me, and saw Frea just outside the front door.
"I thought you were hurt- where's Cora, what happened?" I asked frantically She shook her head, tears in her eyes still, and someone else's blood across her shirt.
"No I'm fine, she's inside..." She pointed, but I was already bounding through the front door. Alice and Sam were on the couch with Brian, watching over my sisters, and Winny was curled up with Cheyenne on the sofa chair.
"Winny!" Dylan called out for her and she woke to him hugging her.
"What happened?" Hunter asked in a panic, as he noticed both Heather, and Leon weren't there.
